We had our first lunch here and found it a very comfortable place to be in. We expected service charges and added costs at restaurants in the heart of Venice so being charged for bread we didn't ask for and having to pay a service charge was not such a shock. Can't really understand what other reviewers are getting so excited about. We usually ask anyway, but as we'd just arrived weren't quite as switched on as usual. Having said that, it was the only place we dined at where there was a charge for bread.
Our main meals and drinks came to about 100 euros and were all very good. My wife ordered the penne arrabiatta and said it was the best she'd ever had.
The place is spotlesly clean and the service was good so nothing to complain about. As there was a service charge we left no tip so we were quits!

The food was ok, but we were surprised with the extra cover charge(coperto) and 12% service charge(Servizio) in the bill. We had eaten at other restaurants in Venice and were never charged these fees. We even took a photo of the bill to ask our Italian friends about it.

I would not recommend this restaurant- look elsewhere.

As my title states, we were so unimpressed with this place. Surroundings are beautiful and place welcoming. We ordered baccala mantecata and prawn cocktail for starters - baccala' was good, prawn cocktail was a cup of frozen prawns from local grocer.

As main course we had pasta - tagliatelle with lobster (17.50 euro) and Spaghetti alla scogliera (seafood spaghetti 15.50 euro). Actually I had better re-explain as tagliatelle with lobster shells (empty apart from some black flesh which shows lack of freshness of lobster), and boiled TASTELESS spaghetti with a few shells and mussels (mostly empty) and nicely decorated in parsley- EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING.

The only thing plausible about this restaurant was the service - waiters were helpful however they seemed forced to sell the most expensive wines and dishes in the restaurant. Of course, no tourist appreciates this, especially a waiter trying to sell a 43euro plate of pasta alla scogliera with aragosta (not assuming it was just a shell like my lobster pasta).

Most disappointing of all - THE BILL. 2 starters, 2 plates of pasta and a bottle of wine cost us 96EURO! not only does the restaurant have a cover charge of 2.50 euro per person, it also comes with a 12% service charge! We were given 2 homemade lemon sorbets "on the house" at the end.

Final comment, the pasta I make at home is much tastier and much more genuine than this - of course CHEAPER. So rather than eating there, grab a burger and fries - am sure you will be more satisfied! This bill was just 20 euro cheaper than another meal we had had in Peschiera del Garda the night before consisting of the freshest oysters, seafood, fresh home made ravioli and 2 lobsters. What a shame! I must be honest and say I will never go to this restaurant again and I hope this and many other similar reviews are believed, so that nobody would go through this again. Very disappointed. Never again. Rubbish.

Place looked very nice. When the food arrived, it was really bad. Pasta had absolutely no flavour in it and it was raw. Meat was dry and saved by cheese.
The sock cave with the bill. They take not just tax money, but "service money" from filthy tablecloth. This took 10euros!! no need to say that tip they didn't get. And when i complained the food, waiter wasn't sorry but cocky with attitude.
Like other people have said, Stay away!!!!!
