I remember booking our room at the Aqua Palace and thinking that for the price, there must be some kind of catch. But we found the Aqua Palace to be everything it promised and more. We booked a junior suite and were so lucky to be given a superb room which overlooked the nearby Guerra canal from some 3 windows. The bedroom’s décor was golden and lavish; the room spacious and cosy. The bathroom was similarly grand in design – my only complaint would be that for a suite, we would have expected a bathtub in addition to the shower, and likewise more bathroom storage would have been welcome. I would also have liked thicker towels and bedding. However, other than those minor matters, the room was superb. As for the hotel itself – it is a stylish, elegant boutique hotel, from its beautiful reception area through to its unique little outside sitting area right by the canal. The breakfast (which was included) was ample and delicious (although one of the ladies who worked there was rather loud and walking around moaning that she felt ill and shouldn’t be at work – which was a little off putting when one is trying to eat). Finally the location of the hotel cannot be beaten - between St Mark's and the Rialto. This is a magnificent hotel and we will definitely return when we are next in Venice.

Room Tip: Go for a junior suite - it's worth the extra!

Stayed here mid-December for an unforgettable 3 nights. Hotel was simple beautiful and elegant. Everything from the marble floored lobby to our 4th floor room with exposed wooden beams and a great view of the canal to match (room 405). Made our stay in Venice that extra bit more special and would definitely stay here again. Thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend in a heart beat! (One slight negative/recommendation- don't book a gondola ride for 100 with the hotel as you will be able to find for 20 euros cheaper as you instantly walk out the door!))

We stayed three nights in a Junior suite with a canal view. I chose the hotel for its location, about half way between Rialto Bridge and St Marks. The location is really convenient to explore Venice and close to many of the sights you will want to explore. It is on small streets/canals so a little difficult to find. The room was huge and the bathroom was spacious and everything worked well. The beds were comfortable with nice pillows. The staff was helpful and friendly. The included breakfast was good with plenty of variety and the food was good quality. The hotel is located on a canal so has a street entrance and a water entrance. The 2nd floor sitting area is very comfortable and has a balcony overlooking the canal. We had a cocktail there a couple of times- the hotel has a bar and they brought the drinks up for us.

We arrived late the first night and walked to the hotel from the Rialto water bus stop. We made a few wrong turns (it is Venice after all) but it was pretty easy to find. One note, the sign is kind of small so it's easy to miss. It think we walked past it once before finding it. Look for the doors lit up, they are distinctive. A water taxi would be the easy, simple and elegant way to arrive. However, we elected to walk in lieu of the 180 euros fee for the taxi. We had one carry-on roller bag each so it was simple. With more luggage the $$ route is the way to go.

The value for cost is fantastic. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend the Aqua Palace.

We stayed at the Aqua Palace for 4 nights during our recent trip to Venice. The biggest plus for us was the convenient (albeit touristy) location - between St Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge, with lots of cafes and restaurants in the area to choose from.

Our room was spacious and nicely furnished but rather dark. And because it faced the street and adjacent to the canal and bridge, it was quite noisy at times.

Breakfast was excellent with a good selection of cereals, breads, cold meats, cheeses and fruit. However, the room service food was of poor quality so a much better option is to grab a pizza from the many outlets close by.

We had no complaints about the customer service. The reception staff were polite but not particularly warm. The exception was the female staff member in the breakfast room who was very friendly and attentive.

All in all, the hotel met our expectations for a short stay. At the same time, I wouldn't rave about it as others have done.

Room Tip: A room not facing the street or canal may be quieter.

We loved this hotel, and have recommended it to friends. This was our first trip to Venice, and if we get chance to return wouldn't stay anywhere else. Excellent location in a very quiet street, but within a couple of minutes walk of the Rialto Bridge and St Mark's Square. We visited Venice in December, so it was quite cold outside. The room was warm and cosy and spotlessly clean, and it was easy to control the temperature. The buffet breakfast was delicious. We also loved the seat in their lift! The hotel is non-smoking (we checked before we booked) and there is free wi-fi which you are supplied details of on arrival. The reception staff were always welcoming and helpful. The reception area, dining area and other common parts of the hotel were very stylish and they put up some lovely Christmas decorations during our stay, Your can even arrive or depart the hotel directly by water taxi, but the public transport to the airport is only from the Rialto Bridge so not far to wheel your suitcases. Couldn't have wished for a better stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 406, on the top floor, which was nice and cosy with beams. There was a small exter...

Warm welcome, fantastic service, beautiful room, excellent breakfast and ideal location. Hard to think how the Aqua Palace could be better. Special mention for Marco who put up with several changes to our dinner reservations and remained polite, warm and accommodating throughout. Highly recommended!

The room was very nice, with a small balcony, very comfortable, cozy and clean. Very beautiful & chic hotel.
The receptionist was helpful he recommended a restaurant next to the hotel, the food was AMAZING. You can book through the reception a Gondola Ride (a must in Venice)
I highly recommend this hotel for a romantic getaway :)
