“Pleasant location away from the crowds.”
Reviewed 25 October 2013 via mobile

This is an old family home that is in the process of being tastefully renovated. We liked the location because we could walk easily to both the major sights and also the less-frequented parts of the island. Our bedroom windows opened onto a side canal and it was nice to have the garden with cat even though it was a little cool to eat outside. Our host was helpful and the breakfasts were good. We were a bit put off by the crowded carnival atmosphere of Venice near all of the famous sights - if we come again we will stay far away from St. Mark's and the grand canal and enjoy the beauties of the quieter areas and outlying islands, or else come in the off season.

We flew into Venice on the way to the Dolomites and spent 2 nights at Allo Squero. We rode the Blue Line from the airport and then had a 10 minute walk to the B&B. It was not at all hard to find - just difficult to tell that you have found it. (minimal signage see photos). Easy return to the airport.

The small garden was relaxing. The location was a short walk to San Marco and the Grand Canal but was in residential Venice without tourist activity. The rooms were clean and quiet - with some gondola traffic early in the evening.

We will not look for a different place to stay in Venice.

Venice can be a bit much if you don't love hoards of people queuing, selling stuff and taking photos so finding a place a bit out of the way was perfect. It had a relaxing little garden and our room overlooked a canal. Breakfast was plentiful and we even got a packed one for an early departure. The room was lovely and felt very private and homely, my only complaint was that there were no toiletries but other than that it was perfect. Thanks

Andrea and Hiroko are really nice and hospitable people. They picked us up by boat at
the train station (for a fee that was well worth it). I wouldn't say that the B&B in
particular is hard to find, in fact, everything is hard to find in Venice. We got lost
many times in the 2 days. The B&B is clean, simple, the room at the canal was not very
quiet but it was worth it just to experience the canal right outside your window and a
gondola floating by. The wifi signal was strong and good. Andrea even helped me print
out my train tickets. And he helped us to the vaporetto stop when we left, which I am so
grateful for.

We arrived late in Venice to thigh deep floods and snow, but Andrea made us feel warm, cozy and at home in Venezia. And we awoke to sunshine, Carnivale and a beautiful winter's day! Andrea was always very helpful and provided great local restaurant recommendations that were off the usual tourist route. We particularly liked the chinchetti place and Ai Promessi Espose.

We stayed in this B&B for a long weekend in Venice and it was perfect for us in every way. The location is superb within a short work of the Rialto bridge but just out the way of the tourist hub so it feels quiet and secluded. The rooms are decorated very nicely and the window looks straight out onto the canal which is a great feature. You can lie in bed at night and listen to the Venetians along the canals - perfect! The breakfast is good and is served in the garden which was the old shipping yard - really adds to the character. We loved the time we spent there and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Venice.

We spent four nights at this lovely gem of a B&B in Venice. Andrea, our host, was great. He offered suggestions and directions. Breakfast was served, when the weather permitted, in his backyard garden. Our room had a canal view and a new bathroom. Everything was spotlessly clean. It was very quiet at night.

Another reviewer said that it is hard to find. That would be true to say of anything in Venice if it is your first day there. Andrea gave us directions from the "Ca d'Oro" vaporetto stop that worked perfectly. We found the location was convenient and an added plus is that it is also a short walk to the boat that goes to Murano and Burano which leave from the north lagoon side of Venice Island.

I look forward to my next trip and will certainly stay at Andrea's place again.
