Popped in here hoping for a decent drink after eating in a restaurant opposite and was pleasantly surprised. Outside the bar was quite the liveliest place we'd seen all night so we went in looking for a couple of decent sized beers (British pints) and settled for the rather nice and cold Augustiner Brau.
The 2 bar staff were fairly young and the owner was quite sociable, he brought us over some complimentary olives and engaged in conversation about local life and asked me to write down some English beers as he was contemplating widening his selection to a British clientele.
The bar was nicely designed with satellite TV and music streamed via Youtube on a laptop (requests courtesy of the young barman).
and we spent a few hours in here enjoying the vibe.
The beer was typical of Venice at 6.50 euros a pint and despite asking for but not getting my froth topped up, we were desperate for a decent drink out and really enjoyed our time here.
So if your down on the waterfront near Aresenale ferry stop we'd highly recommended a visit ...
