“Expencive coffee cup”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

I stopped in this cafe with my wife for cafe-break.
We waited about 15 min until waiter paid attention for us. We ordered 2 cups of coffee with milk and water (without gas).
After 20min we received 2 cups with coffee, milk, glasses and small decanter with tap water.

As result we paid 6 euro for one cup of coffee and 6 euro per person for music on the street.
I'd like to notice that every one on the street can listen this music.

“expensive and unexciting”
Reviewed 20 May 2014

You would expect to pay a lot for this magnificent location, and that's OK. We chose this restaurant for a drink over others in the square because they were playing good music. Well, as soon as we sat down the music stopped and from then on the breaks were longer than the music.

The waiter was not really paying attention to us. Had to get up and look for him to pay our bill. Also, lots of pigeons fly around and land on tables, they should do something about it.

An Irish coffee and a pot of tea for one set us back € 37 euro!

Next time we'll try another venue...

“A wonderful overpriced experience”

The wine, the music and the delightful waiters. It was worth the exorbitant prices. It was great. Enjoy the people watching.

“Tourist Trap”
Reviewed 3 May 2014 via mobile

Great location but hey, you can buy coffee just off the square and enjoy the view for free.....

Coffee and slice of cake each for two people = € 70 bill......

We enjoyed the live music and was expecting a bill around that number as the ice creams are like €20 each....

So be certain that this is the place for you......

“wonderful mid-morning drinks and snack”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

Having a drink in St Mark's Square in the sunshine was on my 'to do' list during my first visit to Venice. Chose this café/restaurant as it was attractive, was adjacent to the Basilica and had live 4-piece orchestra playing light classical music. Lovely but you do have to pay a high cover charge for the privilege - the staff are very discreet in advising you of the charge. Well worth the expense for the experience. We stayed for an hour and whiled away the time people watching! Staff speak excellent English are very well trained and turned out and certainly look after customers.
