Owner description: A masterpiece of Gothic architecture, the building and its sculptural decoration date from various periods. The interior, with works by artists such as Titian, Veronese, Tintoretto, A.Vittoria and Tiepolo, includes vast council chambers, superbly decorated residential apartments, and austere prison cells. Along the facades of the Palace run loggias that overlook St. Mark’s Square and the lagoon. The combined entrance ticket to the St. Mark’s Square Museums grants access to the Doge’s Palace, Museo Correr, Museo Archeologico Nazionale and Monumental Rooms of Biblioteca Marciana.

“Impressive building”

While it is an impressive building, that was about it for me. I didn't have time for a tour inside but that may has changed things for me.

“Amazing!”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

We saw this as part of a tour, and I would highly recommend a tour so you can get the full history along with the beautiful site! My 15 and 9 year old boys loved every minute of it. It even prompted some great conversations later! This is an absolute do not miss!

“Opulent”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

We went at 5pm, and walked straight in. Fantastic interior and paintings. Even if they are not your taste it is remarkable. Amazing history and the Bridge of Sighs from the inside makes you think of those unfortunates who ended up in the prison!

You should go here to understand a bit of the history of the place. A magnificent building and even more impressive on the inside.

“History live”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

We had a great tour closer to evening; it was less crowded and more enjoyable. The sun was setting casting beautiful shadows across the yard; some rooms looked even more mysterious because of it... Refreshed on background history prior to the visit and it made a lot of difference. Huge armory collections; my 10-year old son loved it and spent quite a bit of time there.
