The Rialto Bridge is a must see but beware of the crowds.... at least, work with them, take your time and escape into the narrow little streets for a more off beat experience once you have taken in the view from the top of the bridge AND the new shopping center's free viewing deck (T Fondaco dei Tedeschi by DFS).

Touristy, crowded, dirty, chaotic... I would spend more time at the Ponte dell'Accademia bridge over the Rialto Bridge.

And terribly crowded with tourists! Worth a look though and it has amazing views. Lots of great shopping, got 3 linen tops for 60 euros. Lots of places to eat or have coffee close to it. Maybe go at night after all the day troopers and cruise people leave!

Find it, take picture in front of, move on. Most of the fun is finding it, follow the signs at most corners in Venice. Always very crowded.

Like the Piazza San Marco, this has its own gravity well from which it is hard to escape as the tourists stream in. The shops are mostly the usual stuff that you find in a high-rent tourist area - even the nice ones are not the nicest in Venice. When we were there, FIVE cruise ships were in town, so the crowds were impenetrable. We finally escaped and found joy in the other neighborhoods of Venice.
