Venezia...finally! We travelled as a family of three (7 year old plus parents) and were blown away by how much we loved Venice. And the Danieli was absolutely gorgeous. We stayed in the old part of the building in a one bedroom suite and everything was luxurious and comfortable. Nothing bad to say at all. It’s a bucket list hotel.

We stayed one night in a beautiful suite. The lobby is stunning, as is lunch on the rooftop terrace. Check in was really slow, however, as was check out! You cannot have a drink on the terrace unless you have a dinner reservation after 6:30.

It's not cheap but the Hotel Danielli is a world-class luxury hotel that lives up to its' history and reputation. Located at the beginning of the Grand Canal, the hotel is right right on the main walk on the water and next to Piazza San Marco and the attractions around it. If you like that convenience and energy (and it was fine for our group) then the location is outstanding. We had a drink at the sister property, The Gritti Palace, on a quieter portion of the Grand Canal and it was a completely different (quieter) experience. The rooms are classically Venetian elegant and they were kind enough to upgrade us to a corner room on the 4th floor. We were high enough to not have the noise be a problem, but friends of ours had a room on the 2nd floor and the noise from the crowd and the walkway moving up and down with the water at night was distracting. Other friends of ours had a suite that was incredible on a higher floor and loved it. The service is excellent and the bar is a wonderful way to end the evening. The view from the outdoor terrace for breakfast was a great way to start the day but a constant hovering of pigeons made it less than ideal. All in all, a great experience in one of the world's classic hotels.

Room Tip: Higher floor (at least 4 if possible)

Of course nothing bad can be said about the palace itself, which is absolutely magical and leaves you speechless.

The staff was friendly however I was expecting first-class service from such a well-known boutique hotel in Venice. We were escorted to our bedroom and explained the structured of premises, how it is made of three different parts.

Our bedroom was in the new part of the building, nicely decorated and spacious. With a small entrance, a walk in wardrobe and a big bed.
In terms of services, I must say it was disappointing as in they do not provide anything "extra". During the 3 nights we spent there we weren't given particular attention and we did not notice any nice touches apart from small chocolates left in the bedroom in the evening.
Having brekfast in the terrace is a must..We also would have liked to have an aperitivo there but unfortunately we did not know that it is important to book well in advance for it is not only for hotel guests and they do not have a special consideration for the latter, sadly.

The hall can get very busy with both tourists trying to pop in for a quick look (fair enough) and the amount of guests.

Stayed in the Danieli for 3 nights celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We booked a suite with views over the Adriatic which was stunning. Very beautiful rooms with beautiful decor. The hotel itself is full of history and character with some of the best architecture I’ve ever seen in any hotel. The staff were tops in every way from the room staff to the reception and the concierge couldn’t do enough for us.
Breakfast was served in the roof top terrace which had the most beautiful view over Venice, the best view you could possibly have. Very expensive but worth it. Would definitely go back.
