Nice hotel, just 4 minutes away from the S Marco. Good service, nice rooms and wel decorated. Get used tot the Venitian prices but a Gin Tonic for € 30 in the bas was just a little bit to much...
Great atmosphere in the hotel and good breakfast.

Room Tip: For a Grand Canal view you have to select a room in the Pallazio Bauer...

Hungry or not...it's all about the view. Front row seat to Santa Maria della Salute on the canal cannot be beat.

Get in the November high water spirit and climb on a few cafeteria tables to get in and out of the lobby. It's just part of the Venetia scene.

The location is fab, the front desk were very courteous and helpful, the room was absolutely fine and all is right in the world. Some rooms have a view/balcony, I am told. Anyway, go to Venice. It will not be here forever.

Room Tip: Breakfast with a view.

We stayed at The Bauer hotel for a 5 day pleasure and business trip and it ticked ever expectation we had and more.

ROOMS:
We stayed in the Casa suites which were a little cheaper but proper italian feel and very spacious. Even though we didn't have views over looking the grand they were still great suites. Very nice.

STAFF:
A class apart, couldn't help us enough and very friendly. I lost my phone at the airport before we arrived and they helped hugely in dealing with it. They were truly great at good service.

LOCATION:
Best in Venice - FACT. You can explore Venice by foot from this hotel and you can throw a stone to St Marks square and easy access from San Marco port (3-4 min walk). Honestly the location is beyond perfect.

FOOD/BAR:
They have a very romantic Italian restaurant over looking The Grand canal which is beautiful when having breakfast. For the evening meal it's not the cheapest (none of Venice is) but as I said a touch of class.

OVERALL:
When we come back to Venice we wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Well done to THE BAUER.

The hotel website shows wonderful photos from the reception to the rooms making us believe that all rooms are perfect. But we stayed at Casa Nova Room and disappointedly it is not located in the Bauers hotel main building. So we had to stay in a building apart from de hotel, without the nice view of the Grand Canal, which is the main hotel marketing. Besides that, to have internet Wifi, you have to extra 20 euro/day!! For the "Grand Finalle" they charged me and my wife more 21 EURO for the "City Tax"!! By the way, if you need to use PUBLIC BATHROOMS in the city you have to pay for that, too!! Well... Venice is a wonderful city but Venezians are Tourist Explorers. Be careful when you go there!

We arrived via water taxi at the Bauer Il Palazzo for a 2 night stay. We were warmly greeted at the front desk and told we had been upgraded to a Grand Canal view room. The room was large and comfortable. The breakfast on the roof terrace was fantastic and staff was very accommodating. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay at the Bauer Il Palozzo again.

Room Tip: We emailed the hotel ahead of time to make dining reservations and also asked for a room upgrade if...

I stayed at the Bauer Hotel with my daughter to celebrate her 18th Birthday. I chose the more expensive hotel to ensure a good location but in fact it doesn't take too long to cover most of the main sites of Venice on foot so it wasn't really necessary. The hotel accommodation and service was 'okay' and the view from the terrace was exceptional, although our room had no view at all . The breakfast was very good and the staff efficient. However, if you want to experience the ambience of this wonderful city then I really would suggest a smaller more intimate hotel with a less sterile atmosphere (more like an airport lounge than a hotel reception!). Surrounded by Prada, Louis Vuitton et al, we could have been in London but for the gondolas waiting for a fare! Some of the smaller boutique hotels we passed were very inviting and oozed charm! My mistake opting for the security of the 5*.

Room Tip: Grand Canal view is a must otherwise why choose this hotel unless you don't like to walk that is...

The location is perfect- it is a 5 minute walk to St. Mark's square. The room for European standards was nice, but I don't think it was a $550.00 room(yes that was our nightly rate). We had no view at all, and it was approximately 250 square feet. The bathroom was large, but the design of the shower was poor- no shower doors or curtain so you have to be strategic to avoid water on the bathroom floor. I read many reviews of happy customers who had great views, but I felt we were slighted on our room for the price we paid. The pros: the common outdoor space for the outdoor bar and restaurant are terrific with great views. Fortunately, the 2 days of rain finally stopped, and we were able to enjoy their outdoor space- lovely- the breakfast room was very nice and good selections on the breakfast choices. I found customer service to be acceptable but not as you would expect for the price you are spending, and I am pretty low key. They didn't act bothered just curt and distant. Overall, I would recommend for the location- make sure to ask for a canal view if this is important and be prepared to open your wallet- a glass of wine at the bar was $15.00

Room Tip: If a view is important, make sure you request it.
