This hotel was modern, kept up and in a fabulous location. Minutes away from San Marco and the watter shuttle from the airport. The hotel front desk staff was surly and unfriendly.

This was a very nice hotel. Our room was clean and a good size. The hotel was quite modern and in a good location. The only draw back was the expense of the water taxis. This is a high end area where things are a little pricy. All the shops near by are high end, Louie Vuitton, Prada Gucci. The maid service was great. They turn down our beds each night and were very friendly. I dont have anything to complain about, about this hotel. Its a nice hotel but really we didnt spend much time in the hotel as we were in such a beautiful city.

Go out to the front of the hotel to the canal restaurant, and you are guarrantee to be "welcomed" by the most obnoxious, care-free waiters in all of Europe. Their level of snootiness easily surpasses anything you can find in Paris, Monaco, etc. We stayed here for 3 nights, and spent several afternoons and evenings out on the front deck restaurant, and were repeatedly horrified to see how the staff here treat clientelle. They seem to be trained to provide this type of high-brow, "how-dare-you-sit-or-eat-here" service. The rest of the hotel is OK, and front desk and concierge service is adequate (not cheery or pleasant, but adequate), rooms are very small, and one single glare from down the nose of one of these waiters is enough to make you want to go elsewhere. Which is exactly what I will do next time I come to Venice. BTW, we ate at 2 other canal front hotel/restaurants, and were pleased to find very courteous staff. So the lack of manners seem to be concentrated amongst the waiters here at the Monaco Grand Canal.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights from 24th July. I emailed the hotel to advise it was our anniversary on booking and they delivered a complimentary bottle of bubbly to our room on arrival which I thought was a lovely touch.

The location is great, not far to travel off the bus with your cases when you arrive. Only minutes walk to St Marks Square and other attractions.

We had one of our evening meals at the hotel and the atmosphere was great very relaxing, sipping wine and just watching the boats and people in their gondolas. If you get a chance make sure you have a gondola ride bit expensive but hey you cant go to venice without the experience.

The staff were friendly and we had a small problem with the shower tap, once reported to the desk it was repaired immediately.

In all the hotel made our trip to Venice so special. Thanks

just returned from a 3 day stay in this wonderful hotel, nothing was too much trouble for the staff the food in the restaurant is to die for we have eaten in some very expensive places but this was truley great food, 2 of our girls are vegetarian and there were no main courses available so we asked about this when we booked, they said it was no problem and the next evening as we were seated our waiter enquired which people requiered the vegetarian options then discussed their likes and dislikes before comming up with several choices, perfect service! the view from the tables cannot be beaten & I would recommend this hotel to anyone

Lovely hotel - arrive by private water taxi up to the Hotel private landing stage from the airport - very expensive but worth it ...the slow public boat took about 1.5 hrs.Private taxi (almost a speed boat ) took approx 20 mins and you feel like royalty!! (80 euros each way)

Bathroom the best I have ever seen anywhere in the world with a HUGE mable bath and sink and 2 showers.

Breakfast simple but tasty out on the best terrace you could wish for.

Staff wonderful and very helpful.

Location cannot be beaten. The Gritti Palace appeared musty and ancient in comparison.

Any questions just ask!!
