Owner description: DiscoveringVenice is run by Antonella, Eugenia and Federica. We are Registered Tourist Guides since 2000. We offer a wide range of private tours. We also offer semi-private tours: a perfect way to share costs with other travellers like you. The private tours we organize can be either on foot or by private boat (Gran Canal, small canals, islands of the lagoon - Murano, Burano, Torcello). We are keen to organize customized exclusive tours to make you discover the "hidden Venice" and its back-streets, as well as the monumental classic Venice.

We spent three beautiful days in Venice. Antonella met us on our first morning at our hotel. Our goal was to get an overview of the city. We walked thru the city with stops at points of interest, including St. Mark's, where Antonela gave us her personal insight and shared the extraordinary history of Venice. All along the way, she provided us with tips and tibbits that we certainly would have missed if left on our own. Her tips helped us to make the most of our time in Venice.
Our experience with Antonela was like meeting an old friend. She navigated us through the winding streets and canals, all the time providing us with the history, customs and essential tips. The following day, as we explored on our own, we saw Antonela on the Canal- again, it was like meeting an old friend.
Highly recommend DiscoveringVenice and Antonela as the way to make the most of your visit to Venice.

Antonella couldn't have been more gracious and informative as we spent three hours walking (and then an hour by private boat) around Venice. Despite the massive holiday crowds, Antonella provided us with the essential history, insider information, and quick peaks into a world we otherwise would have missed exploring the city on our own. She customized the tour on the fly to meet our needs and was a delight to get to know. Her knowledge of her home is truly impressive and we wholeheartedly recommend her for first-timers or even seasoned visitors.

Our group of four friends enjoyed a varied 4 hour tour with Antonella, an excellent guide. Starting with the bustling Rialto market & wandering through narrow streets we learned about the every day life of the city. Skipping the lines no time was wasted before we were in the magnificent St Mark's Basilica followed by a visit to the spectacular Doge's Palace. Antonella was a highly knowledgeable guide, putting across information very well, sharing with us her enthusiasiasm for Venice's history, art & culture as well as some of the challenges & concerns facing local people. She had a lively engaging manner & nice sense of humour. We were also offered useful advice on other places of interest to visit, restaurants & cafes. The tour with her was a highlight of our stay!

Our family (including 3 teens) scheduled a walking tour of Venice as well as a private taxi ride along the Grand Canal with Frederica Fresch, and I would highly recommend her and the tour. Frederica is very knowledgeable and the kids enjoyed the stories about Venice and loved the boat ride as well. We traveled to Florence and Rome afterwards and her tour was their favorite. The private taxi ride was a nice relaxing end to our tour.
