We used this service in May and June 2013 our family for transportation between the Venice Marco Polo Airport to an apartment on San Marco and then later in the week for a transfer from the apartment to the San Basilio Cruise Terminal. They showed up on time at all the appointed times and got us where we needed to go with no hassle at all!
It was raining on our arrival in Venice, and we had 5 people and of course way too many bags. Having a prepaid reservation and a private motorboat not only really made our transfer SO much smoother and more comfortable than taking the public Alilaguna taxi, which we also had access to, it was a really FUN way to go! Plus the driver helped us with the bags - we did tip him for this service.
we did email them prior to our arrival because we booked several months in advance and they replied promptly. There is a 7 hour time difference between Venice and Central time US.
We also prebooked and prepaid the Grand Canal one hour tour - it was awesome and well worth it but beware that the times changed without any warning or notice at all - fortunately we went to their ticket booth way early to exchange our voucher for the actual tickets and that is when we learned of the time change - otherwise we would have missed our tour. the lady in the booth did speak great english and just sort of laughed about our voucher saying one thing and the time being different, so be sure to check that out when you arrive because the web could be wrong. the tour itself was very interesting and the guide was great. Their boats are really nice.

We had booked transportation from the city center to the airport via this operator. A map was faxed over to the hotel the day prior to the pickup marking the location to meet the boat. We arrived and waited at the point located on the map. Once our pickup time had passed without being picked up we contacted the provider and found that they wanted us to meet at a location that was about 100 feet away from the area circled on the map. At this time the operator said that our driver had already given up on us and refused to provide any service.

This was by far a once in a lifetime experience. Best money we spent in Venice. Yes, it was expensive but worth every euro. We were serenaded for 35-40 minutes with several operatic songs and acoustic guitar solos. A smooth and comfortable ride thanks to our seasoned gondolier. They made us feel so comfortable and to us were the sole of Venice. We booked this company tour through Viator.

The "guide" couldn't care less about the people who were taking their services, she just mumbled some unconnected information in a hurry while the boat passed by quickly and the sound was too bad that you can't understand anything.

They take you to the glass factory and a textile workshop/shop where they tried to sell you overpriced products, some of them are very good, but just not worth the trouble and the 4 hours required to go there.

The last island is a joke, there isn't anything in there. Not idea why is included in the tour or what anybody could want to see there. Don't waste your time and money

I am crazy in love with Venice but I booked this dreadful tour through Viator and it was the only part of our trip that was a flop. It was only around $25 and it's true that you get what you pay for. I thought I would do a nice thing for my friend on her birthday but it was very disappointing. The little ferry they crammed us all in was scorching hot inside. I managed to squeeze into a spot outside but I had to stand the whole time. But it was way better than dying inside like my friends were. When we got to Murano, we saw a glass blower do his thing, which was great but again, so hot in the building and so crowded that it was hard to see. And the commentary was loud and annoying. (Boy, what a complainer huh? LOL) We then went to Burano which was an absolutely delightful, magical and colourful place to be but there wasn't NEARLY enough time allotted in the tour for visiting. So sad.

So finally, us girls ditched the tour before going on to Torcello, spent more time in Burano (yes!) and hired a water taxi to take us back to the heart of Venice. Actually, as it turned out, it wasn't an actual water taxi but a man's own tiny motorboat. Before we saw the boat, we managed to chew him down to 80 euro from 120 euro and, once he showed us his boat (with only one seat) he thought we were going to change our minds so he went down to 50 euros. So we hopped in for that price and it turned out to be the most fun we had had the whole time we had been in Venice. We had extra time before having to go on the train, so he took us through the canals which was a real treat and gave us way more than our money's worth. And he was a delight, even though we couldn't understand most of what he was saying.

FYI, when I had checked out all the reviews for that 1/2 day tour, they were all positive so I was fooled... so either they only keep the good reviews on there or they write them themselves. I am not normally one to complain but it really was a waste of money. Buyer beware! Spend more money and hire a private tour or a water taxi. And make sure you can spend lots of time on Burano.
