While not in the most picturesque or central part of Venice, the great service, friendly staff, comfortable room, and close proximity to both land and water transportation make up for it. The walk from the airport bus to the hotel was just a couple of minutes and the Piazzale Roma boat stop is also a short walk. We purchased a week pass on the public boats (vaporetto) that took us anywhere and everywhere we wanted to go.

We enjoyed the small bar off the lobby after a full day walking and boating around this magnificent place. The room we had faced the park and path to the bus and boat transportation. It was very comfortable, clean and relatively quiet.

Stayed just one night at the beginning of our cruise and wanted to stay here again at the end. Traditional elegant with good old fashioned service. On the canals in an ideal location, not too busy but close to everything including the bus station. Comfort and good food assured will definitely go again, and book longer next time. Well done Papadopoli a perfect hotel.

A wonderful hotel in a great position. Near the train station but far enough away from the main canal to be very private and quiet. Lobby very impressive and lovely restaurant. Breakfast very good and staff very helpful and friendly. Free wifi a bonus. Hotel has the advantage of having a side entrance for when the canal which is just outside the main entrance floods you can leave without getting your feet wet, which happened on our departure day! Bar area very inviting and looks comfortable. Decor very upmarket and well maintained. Will definately stay again and recommend to anyone.

The lobby of the hotel is elegant. The rooms are very good. Service is excellent. The location is very convenient, right on one of the canals, but not too far to walk to the sights. Very close to the bus and trains, too.

We stayed at papadopoli for 3 nights and the hotel totally lived up to our expectations. It was by choice that we decided stay away from st marks squareb si the only disadvantagec was that we couldn't enjoy our long walks to rialto n st marks etc since it rained on two of the days we stayed. But in better weather it would have been fabulous.

At the hotel upon request we were upgrade to a corner room on the first floor which gave a panoramic view of the beautiful small canal which is next to the hotel.

For those who find trouble sleeping in noise this room would be a big NO.. since the corner around the hotel is busy at all times of day n night. But we didn't mind the noise so it was Ok.

The breakfast spread is fairly decent but staff is not particularly friendly.one of them seemed to have a problem even smiling , it almost felt like she was doing us a big favour even being present at the breakfast place (i think caterina was her name).

Another problem we faced was the hotel staff tried to usher some guests at around 12.30 am but erroneously swiped a card that entered or room. My husband yelled in fright n the staff excused himself. The only good thing was that when we spoke to reception staff about this the next day they seemed to be aware that their colleague had entered our room at night by mistake. So we think it was a genuine mistake on their part n the reception staff apologised for it.

Overall I think our room and is view more than made up for the above and we enjoyed our stay here. Esp sitting by the window with a pot of coffee on a particularly rainy n cold day.

(Canal view rooms in any hotel in venice is an over-rated concept. The structures of the buildings are such that u can not see the canal unless u put ur full head out of the window. If canal view is important for u, ensure u ask for a room with a balcony or multiple tall windows)

This hotel is near the train and bus station. Do keep in mind that this is Venice and steps, bridges and crowds of people going both directions is the norm, especially for this area. However, the hotel itself is quiet and elegant. The rooms are a comfortable size a well appointed. However, breakfast is not included, as it is in most European (and American) hotels. To get a feel for the real Venice and avoid the carnival of the street vendors, cruise ships and general chaos, it is necessary to leave this iconic area. In the past I have stayed in the Cannaregio Sestiere, which I would do again, if I were to return.

This is a really nice hotel overlooking a small canal. It's quite traditional, not too big and extremely well located away from the crowds around St Mark's Square. Just five minutes walk away from the train / bus station (there's a park and a canal in between so no issue with any road noise) - it cost us about EUR 6 I think to get the bus in from the airport.

Our room was great - we asked for a balcony and we got one on the 5th floor overlooking the city (not many rooms have balconies, so make sure you ask if you want one). Decor was nice, comfortable bed and an OK size. The bathroom was OK, but could do with updating really.

The hotel is about 15 minutes walk to the Rialto Bridge (mayhem and very busy - I was glad we weren't in that area). There are loads of nice restaurants and bars close by, with a good mixture of locals and tourists. Make sure you have an "Aperol" (the orange drink you see everyone with) at the tiny bar across the canal on your way out for dinner: very cheap and a great atmosphere.

Definitely recommended......

Room Tip: Some rooms have balconies - nice views from the 5th floor city view rooms
