Me and my girlfriend spend night in that lovely hotel from 13th to 14th february. The most important about the hotel is a PERFECT location, very close to Piazza San Marco. Beautiful view from the restaurant makes people happy especially in the morning sunshine. Quality of food and drinks really good (both in restaurant and bar). Staff in general very helpfull and nice. Special thanks to the lady from the restaurant who worked at 14th february on breakfast time (unfortuantely I don't remeber her name). She was really nice, professional and was smiling all the time. Also concierge and bartenders made their job really good. Maybe little dissapointment with reeption staff. Were professional and nice, but we missed little things like: "Welcome in Westin, enjoy your stay with us" etc. Maybe simple words but make a difference.
The room was nice and cosy. We had double room on 5th floor in Regina building. Everything was clean and tidy, large bathroom and lot of towels. Only bathroom radio didn't work, but it was not big inconvinience for one night stay.
Generally speaking hotel is really beautiful, with amazing Grand Canal view, perfectly located. I can reccomend it for everyone who wants to spend holidays in a heart of Venice. I would come back there for sure.

The westin in Venice was absolutely a wonderful experience. The food was some of the best that I had eaten. The brunch was the best I have ever had. The patio where you sit to have brunch was divine sitting by the water and watching all the boats go by. Convenient to everything. Room was very comfortable and very clean. Service was outstanding.

Room Tip: No one had a problem with any of the rooms.

hotel was great. 2nd time we have staying here.

location is literally 3 minutes walk to San Marco and the Vaporetta stops.

they had a special "gift" bag for my son at checkin, and one of the checkin personnel actually gave him a second one for being so polite every time we came into the hotel. checkin greetings were always friendly.

money exchange available at a good rate in the lobby.

we were upgraded to a top floor with a balcony, so our own personnel views of venice, note that birds are abundant, as we found out as we left some food/drinks for our son on the balcony...and in the morning we found the birds had gotten to them and had them spread out all over the balcony...lesson learned.

shopping, food, and history literally right outside the door.

little disappointed that they did not have a better schedule available for the beginning of Carnival in the lobby of for the rooms, I had to research it myself on the internet.

Notes for families
]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]
1) closest grocery store is next to Rialto. alittle hard to find, but once we did we got milk and snacks for our son.
2)the vaporetto system has got an overhaul and some of the lines that we had used before no longer are available. it seemed to be a bit confusing as the concierge also had misconceptions about it. we were given bad information 2 times by this desk, but the last person we spoke to actually broke out the updated vaporreto schedules, so that helped. I would have marked the rating lower for this, but it seemed to be an issue for everyone to understand the changes.
3)we came at the start of Carnival. and even though the schedule was listed on the website, it was confusing and several of the kids attractions that were supposed to be open were not as of yet.

Room Tip: top floor give you a balcony, which is just incredible for views

Very good, if slightly impersonal hotel, in a perfect location half way between San Marco and Accademia. However the best things about the hotel are the corner suites with (for Venice) huge terraces. These are by far the best value rooms with terrace with Grand Canal view in the City, perfect for Spring and Summer.

Room Tip: If you can, go for one of the corner suites with terrace with Grand Canal view, best value in Venice.

We arrived at the westin having been recommended other hotels but I decided to go with the Westin. I was a bit worried after reading a few feedback comments that staff were impolite at this hotel. However I've got to say that certainly wasn't our experience. All the staff we ever came into contact with were really nice and really polite and wanted to make us feel welcome. I can only presume that other people visiting either met staff on a bad day or it was a case of cultural differences. I can imagine some staff are not comfortable speaking English and therefore sound nervous and abrupt when they speak.

We arrived by water taxi and entered the hotel by the water bridge. The hotel is in a great location overlooking the Grand Canal, the shops, San Marco square and the main tourist boats to visit other islands. We were given a top floor room at the back of the hotel overlooking the Grand Canal and with a full length terrace, with chairs and tables. After a while someone came to the door with a bottle of wine and some fruit for us which was quite unexpected. They said it was to greet us to the hotel on our first day which was a great touch. We also had maids visiting on an evening for a turndown service.

The terrace made an excellent location because on my girlfriends birthday, we went onto the terrace to overlook the Grand Canal and I proposed to her on the terrace of the hotel. The terrace and the view inspired me to propose there and it really was a great location.

The rest of the hotel is in typical Venice style, very palatial and ornately decorated in expensive items and expensive furniture. Everywhere you go in the hotel, you feel rather relaxed and know you are on holiday and away from the hustle and bustle of running a business.

The restaurant service and bar service was perfect and the food was great too. In fact some of the waiters and waitresses I could have easily given an award to because they were so good and made the stay so relaxing.

The bathroom was well stocked and spacious and our bedroom being one of the bigger types was equally extremely well presented. The only minor fault I could pick out were the odd minor details, like we arrived and there was only one toothbrush for two people and the toilet paper was of the rough type. We had such an amazing time that neither of those minor things would ever cause me to mark this great hotel down. I would definitely visit their again. This hotel stay was quite simply AMAZING!
