My wife and I returned to Venice and our second visit to this hotel. Our first time was great but this last visit was even better. As a SPG member they took care of us. Great room, great view and the best nights sleep! We look forward to our return!!!!

You walk in and all you see is marble. Beautiful marble floors, columns, walls, and even the bathroom sinks. And absolutely stunning place. The room was very nice, even if we had no view. The view opened to a courtyard of sorts, however the floor to ceiling windows that opened, gave a nice breeze , with the curtains moving in the breeze.
Breakfast was buffet with plenty of choices and outdoor or indoor facing the canal. The location is perfect to all the St Marks Square area and shops.
I cant imagine staying any where else.
A special thanks to Sorena , who when asked about a restaurant outside the hotel, recommended a place that was the highlight of our 10 day European tour. Thank you Sorena !!

Thanks to a Lufthansa strike we changed our plans and needed up with a unique terrace room
Boy glad we did
What an awesome room with amazing views over the Grande Canal
The terrace was huge with loungers and large table with chairs
The common areas are beautiful and well kept
Possibly best room in all of Venice and all things considered , a fairly decent price point
I'm still dreaming of my room thousands of miles away

I am just now getting to review this hotel from our July 2013 visit. We stayed here using Starwood points. It was a GREAT value for our points. We took the vaporetta from the train station, and it was a short walk to the hotel. The beautiful marble lobby gave us a great first impression of the hotel. The staff was just average during check-in. We had an average size room that was not small, but plenty big and comparable to what we are used to here in the US. Our view was of another wall across a small alley, but we had not asked to have a view. We probably should have at least asked! I have read reviews of the a/c not being the best, but the a/c worked great for us and our room was nice and cool during our stay in the hot July weather. I also loved the Venetian glass lamps on the walls of our room! We did not eat at the hotel, but enjoyed a memorable cocktail (or two) after our dinner out in the bar on the outside patio. The patio bar was not very big, but we so loved being right on the canal and enjoyed the view while talking to several other friendly couples who were also staying at the Westin. The friendly concierge held our luggage for a few hours the day we left and arranged for a water taxi to the airport. The best advantage of this hotel is the amazing location! Beautiful canal location just 3 minutes from St. Mark's Square, and great shopping and restaurants just steps from the front door. We would stay here again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a canal view!

Arrival: My first time in Venice and I can recommend taking a water taxi from Marco Polo Airport. It is much more expensive than the Vaporetti BUT what a way to arrive in Venice - speeding across the lagoon in an open boat! Water taxi is E110 (non-negotiable) and waterbus is E15 each. We did get the waterbus on the return as we had the time but it took 1 hour and 10 mins from St Mark's square.

Hotel: Booked a room for 3 nights in the Westin Europa on a very good deal. The location was about 5 mins from St Mark's square but away from the hurly-burly. It looked onto the Grand Canal although our room wasn't directly overlooking it, we could see the canal from our small balcony which was fine. The room was more than adequate. The bed and the pillows were very comfortable and the bathroom quite large with lots of marble. It has a separate shower and bath. The amazing thing was that this must have been the quietest hotel (esp city hotel) that I have ever stayed in. No noise from the corridor, no doors crashing late at night which I always hate. It was so peaceful.

Food: we didn't eat at the hotel but enjoyed dinner at a variety of restaurants on Calle Larga San Marco. I can recommend the Pomodoro Rosso for the Pizzas, helpful and friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. I think we went there for 2 lunches and a dinner!

Walk! - it was great walking round the main island of Venezia. I can recommend walking around the canals in the North around Orto. It is so quiet up there - not so many tourists. Lovely to walk through alleys and over bridges but it is easy to get lost! Even for someone with a good sense of direction. But so what of you have the time?!

Murano - well worth a visit on the vaporetto. It was charming and quiet with so many glass shops. The glass produced there is stunning. I would recommend bringing some glass item back from holidays.

All in all, a great weekend in Venice and a good time of the year to visit and it seemed very safe walking around the city.

Check in was friendly and quick, while I was there another guest was complaining that the €12 wifi in her room took 45mins to open an email and I remembered that other people had made similar comments on trip advisor.
The lobby and bar area look fantastic with beautiful furnishings and marble floors however my room on the third floor of the Regina building left a lot to be desired. In addition to it being the smallest room of any star hotel I've stayed in the chair was frayed and the some of the bathroom fixtures broken. The room was so small that you could only access the bed from one side. Ok if like me you're on your own, but for a couple? You shouldn't really have to climb over your partner to use the bathroom in the middle of the night in a five star hotel!

Would I stay here again? Probably not, definitely not if I'm paying the bill.

We new it from the moment that we checked in that this was going to be a magical stay. Roberta S checked us in........what a pleasure she was with her welcoming personality. We booked a Unique Grand Canal View Room. To make an incredible room even more special, when we mentioned that we were going to order a bottle of prosecco and enjoy it on our private terrace overlooking the canal, Roberta proceeded to tell us that she was going to give us free bottle of champagne instead. After escorting us to our room, she made good on her promise. We had a chilled bottle of champagne and strawberries as well as olives and crackers to enjoy our first day in this spectacular hotel. The views from the room were breath taking. We hated to leave to tour the city. At the end of the night we sat out on the terrace and enjoyed the amazing buildings and listened to the water. We were also lucky as SPG Gold Members to enjoy a 4PM checkout. If you come to Venice to must stay in this hotel in this room # 456! The Hotel Manager must be so pleased to have members of his team with such professionalism as Roberta.

Room Tip: Unique Grand Canal View Room. Room 456 in particular. This is a corner room with private large terra...
