A fantastic hotel in a quiet but central position.Excellant service throughout and a great place to stay as it is central enough to wander into St Marks Square when all the daytime tourists have gone home.

An exquisite Old World Hotel in a great part of this incredible city. Only a half block walk from San Marco Square as well as the water taxi stop. The rooms are small-to-adequately sized (but for the price, should be larger).
The hotel and main desk staff were very helpful.

Dear Gerry F,
We thank you for your review and happy to hear of your satisfactory stay. Our superior rooms are right the EU size, which is very good for a short stay, but De Luxe are much larger. Please take good note when reserving and in need of room. Gianmatteo Zampieri - Hotel Manager

Traditional Italian hotel that is just around the corner from Piazza San Marco, the beginning of the grand canal, vaporreto (water bus) stops, Harry's Bar, bars along the grand canal at other hotels, upscale shopping, and views, views views with just a little bit of walking.

I had a "junior suite" or a big bedroom with three windows, double sinks and closets in another room which was next to a room with a bathtub and separate shower, toilet, and a window. There was a blowdryer on the wall and more importantly another hair dryer with a diffuser nozzle (my favorite). Though the room looked across to other buildings it did have plenty of windows that you could open as well as air conditioning. Television had a few English language stations but it would be great if hotels would offer something other than depressing news channels and sports. A movie channel or other programming would help overcome long distance travel and insomnia. Bathroom amenities were ok but nothing too special. No written instructions for the safety deposit box in the room but the front desk quickly offered to come to the room and reset the safety box or explain how to reset.

The breakfast was very good. Again, the breakfast room didn't have a view but one side had plenty of natural light. I would suggest they update the chairs to improve comfort but the room is very elegant and the staff works hard to please. If breakfast is included in your room you may have anything on the buffet. If you want fried eggs or an omelette there is an extra charge. By the way, the omelette is more like a frittata. Too crispy and brown for me. Concierge and front desk staff were helpful but again the location is perfect for exploring any part of Venice on foot or via the vaporetto service. Get a pass if you plan to use the vaporetto or you will pay 7 Euros for a one way trip. There is vaporetto service to and from the airport and the train station. Just allow plenty of time and be very patient.

Room Tip: There are a few rooms with limited water views and even fewer with big water views. Ask if that is important. Large rooms, lots of windows and a separate shower are more important to me. There are a number of nearby hotels with bars on the grand canal so go pay for the view and enjoy.

Dear Mygift2u,
Thank you for choosing us for your stay. As mentioned several time, we do invite all our guest to make their choice when reserving a room. Room with the view ( side canal or Lagoon ) should be reserved usually ahead of time and are a little bit more expensive than those overlooking the street. The city of Venice hasn’t change that much from the last 5 centuries, therefore is very common to face another palace. Gianmatteo Zampieri - Hotel Manager

Sheer luxury, beautiful historic building and a friendly, expert staff. Hard to imagine a better place to stay. Best of all its next to the Piazza San Marco but on a quiet street with its own gondola dock. Harry's Bar just outside the back entrance. It's expensive but its good and its location is so much better than its equally expensive competition.

This is a gorgeous piece of property with a PRIME location in the heart of Venice. I have traveled extensively and stayed in 5-star hotels around the world, but I have never eaten breakfast in a room as beautiful as the one at Baglioni. Further, the breakfast itself was great.

The rooms were great, and the staff was helpful.

We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant one night, and found it to be expensive for the quality. The food was good, but not great. While breakfast at the hotel is excellent, skip dinner and eat out somewhere else in Venice.
