Baglioni Hotel Luna

Certificate of Excellence

The hotel staff at the Luna Hotel Baglioni is exceptional! We were warmly greeted from the moment we first stepped into the hotel. All the front desk staff speak English fluently. Our luggage was lost by the airline for 2.5 days and the front desk personnel called the airport four times a day each day for us checking on the status of the bags. They recommended places to go, things to do and taught us how to use the public transportation system. Room service was excellent. The food was served on huge silver trays. All the staff acknowledged us always.

Breakfast was included. It was plentiful and delicious!

Our room was extremely clean and comfortable. And the view! Wow!

The location of the hotel is A+++. You have immediate access to St. Marks Square and are surrounded by the finest designer shops in the world (Gucci, Loro Piana, Botegga Venetta, Chanel, etc.).

The public water taxi stop is right outside the back door to the left.

You will not be disappointed with this property. It is very customer service oriented! We will be back!

True Venetian hotel in an excellent location next to St. Mark's square. Friendly and helpful staff. Room was large but could use some refreshing. Breakfast is expensive if not included in the room price. Private dock was convenient for our departure to the airport. Welcome plate of sweets upon arrival was a nice touch.

My husband and I stayed at the Luna Baglioni for two nights before a cruise that departed from Venice. We were upgraded to a suite which was absolutely lovely with spectacular views. We found the staff to be attentive and eager to help with any request we had from arranging car service, a private sight seeing tour, meal reservations, and even an after hours gondola ride. British Airways lost our luggage and they the desk staff took care of the details and dealt with the airlines on our behalf. It is a beautiful property and the location is ideal. There is no question that the Luna Baglioni is the only hotel we'd consider upon returning to Venice. Price wise it is a bit higher but you get what you pay for. My only negative would be the breakfast buffet at 40 euros per person. I think there were many other comparable options in the surrounding area available for much less money. All in all a wonderful stay!

Booked this hotel through American Express Platinum which included a full breakfast and upgradable room(if available.) When we arrived for check-in, we were upgraded to a room with a view. The room was very small, but the view was very pretty. The breakfast
was excellent which included cereals, breads, fresh fruits of all sorts, meats, cheeses,
smoked salmon, and a variety of beverages. The service in the breakfast area was very
good.
Some of the reception employees were very friendly and some were not. This is where I go from a 5-star to a 4-star.
The location is definitely wonderful, just off of St. Marks Square. We walked everywhere from there. Lots of wonderful shops very close by the hotel(Chanel is next door.)
We also stayed at the Hotel Gritti Palace which we thought was definitely 5-star(outstanding service!!!)

There is no doubt that arriving at the Baglioni by water taxi is an uplifting experience. The hotel is in a superb location with its front entrance being no more than 20 yards from one corner of St Marks Square. The interior of the hotel is quite magnificent and every bedroom is gloriously furnished and decorated.

There is however a downside. The hotel staff were less than efficient. The front desk was understaffed and everything seemed to be far too much of an effort. The indifference of the staff meant that there was little evidence of any forward planning or any willingness to use initiative to resolve elementary difficulties linked to checking in or out or finding somewhere to accomodate guests who were struggling with the wait .

The breakfast was hugely disappointing, particularly the dreadful offerings in the cooked section. Much of what was available was not fit for consumption and certainly should not have featured in a so-called five star establishment. The staff in the dining room were lacking in charm and chose to ignore guests who dared to point to deficiences rather than look for ways of improving the service.

Anyone considering paying the premium prices being asked by the hotel should be prepared to enjoy the the location and the decor, but eat to elsewhere.

We have stayed in a Junior suite, very clean and spacious on the second floor. Breakfast is quite expensive if you do not reserve by WEB. Concierge and staff at the Hotel are polite and made all arrengments for Opera, walking tours and they can provide a tour to Murano every day. Restaurant is one of the best in Venice. The Hotel is a few steps from St Marco's Squares and Harry's Bar. You can reach Luna Baglioni by water taxi directly from the airport.
