“A super small hotel”
Reviewed 2 April 2014

This hotel is excellent for those wishing to stay right in the centre of things in Venice. The hotel staff speak excellent English and are very attentive and really wish to help their guests in any way. My wife and I had a few reservations on reading past reviews, but these were all unfounded. Our bedroom was not large, but superbly clean, beautifully furnished in traditional style, and had a first class bathroom. We stayed for four nights and the sheets etc. were changed after the second night. Towels were also changed then, but this could have been daily if you so wished. Our room which was quoted as 'superior' had two pleasant easy chairs, a minibar and adequate television. We requested a 'canal view' room but ours did in fact overlook a very quiet street...fine. Wi-Fi is available for free, but do not expect any high speeds, they do not exist ! Logging-on is quite an experience..Enjoy !. If there is anything that could be improved, and this is probably only an English fad anyway, is that there are no tea / coffee facilities in the bedroom. 'Seniors' such as my wife and I do enjoy our early morning cuppa, but I suppose that you could involve room service if this was a real issue. As previous reviews have stated, the breakfast room is small, but as we visited in March and possibly as the hotel was not full, there was never an issue. The actual breakfast is very good. A wide variety of meats and cheese, plus pate', and the croissants/rolls etc. were always fresh and delicious. The fruit salad was tinned, and the fruit juice a bit thin, but all perfectly well served and very adequate for a 'continental' breakfast. Would we stay again ? Most certainly, Value for money, position and a very comfortable stay makes this an ideal venue. Congratulations to the immaculate staff.

Room Tip: Rooms to the centre of the hotel we understand look down on a rather dismal interior 'courtyard...

Just returned from a long weekend in Venice and stayed at the Kette Hotel. Briliantly located just off St Mark's Square in a quiet back road. Staff were very friendly particularly the guy in the bar in the evenings and the hotel was comfortable and clean. We shared a room between three of us (adults) and although the spare bed was narrow and hard, we all slept really well. Our room looked over a canal and each morning we were woken by the sound of the gondaliers going past our hotel. The breakfast was good with a good choice of meats etc. Would certainly recommend this hotel to friends.

My wife and I spent 2 nights in Venice at the Kette hotel, and it was really up to our expectations!
The location is VERY convenient, easy to get there especially if you follow the directions given on the website by the management.
Although it says it is on Piazza San Marco, however you do have to walk for about 5 min to get there. (No problem at all when you are in Venice!)
It is very close to a nice shopping street, and at the same time it is far from crowded and noisy places.
Staff were very welcoming and spoke very well English.
Breakfast was diverse, and I must say their Croissant is simply amazing!
I would definitely recommend it to anyone going there.

Just spent 4 days/3 nights in Venice to celebrate my Wife's 40th Birthday. This hotel was fantastic. Great location (5 minute walk from the Grand Canal water taxi drop off point) and perfect for getting to both San Marco Piazza (10 minute walk maximum) one way and The Rialto Bridge (15 minute walk) the other. The staff were brilliantly helpful, spoke excellent English and were immaculately dressed. It was all very classy. The room was cosy but very impressive and nicely decorated with many ornate features. Plenty of choice at breakfast and the generous 7.00am till 10.30am time slot caters for all. As you can imagine, Venice is fairly expensive, but if you're prepared to have a good old rummage through the many stunning streets and alley's you will stumble on some little gems (Vino Vino in San Marco and Al Vaparetto in San Polo). We managed to get a Gondola for just the 2 of us for 80 euros but it was WELL worth it. A good 40 minutes of lovely scenary and our Gondolier was very knowledgable treating us to a few renditions of 'O Sole Mio' amongst others! I really hope we go back again. I'd have NO hesitation in recommending, or staying at this hotel again. Brilliant.

My sister and I have just spent 2 nights in Venice which we only booked a few weeks ago. This hotel is in an excellent location. It is utterly charming and all the staff are very friendly, polite, well presented and keen to help. We asked for a twin room and was put in Room 501 on the top floor which opened out on to a very large sun terrace overlooking the roof tops with views of the Bassilica and Doges Palace. Could not have asked for a better room in our opinion. Room and bathroom were not huge but certainly plenty big enough for our needs and more importantly it was clean - and I am fussy. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh.

We did have a problem finding the hotel from the water taxi despite working the route out from Google in advance but thankfully Google Maps on the iPhone sorted the problem out and once you have your bearings it is easy to find.

All the main attractions and sites are accessible from the hotel without a need to use the water taxis/buses.

I would definatley go back again

Room Tip: We liked 501 but reading other reviews it would seem that there are other good rooms also

We have recently stayed at this hotel and found it a to be a very good hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful speaking very good English and they had a good knowledge of the local attractions. The hotel was furnished in Venetion style and was very comfortable. The continental breakfast was varied and plentyful and the service was very efficient. The hotel is very conveniently situated for San Marco,Rialto and the Grand Canal. We would thoroughly recommend it.
