Stayed at the Londra Palace for a three night stay as a honeymoon. Location fabulous, room very nice, dinner in the restaurant amazing. We booked a romantic break package and the package stated included airport transfer I assumed that was both ways but it wasnt. So on the final day had a "discussion" with the reception staff who were to be quite honest ignorant and rude, after all I had paid the bill and was leaving on that day. I dont like writing negative reviews and its taken me a couple of months to write this one but I felt I had to. The price of drinks in the hotel are astronomical! It is cheaper to drink in the cafe de paris in Monaco! Great location but I will not be returning.

This hotel is in a great location, has a great staff, and the room we stayed in was recently remodeled. The staff even went so far as to help us sort out confusion with our train schedule. We enjoyed the hotel so much we ate two meals at the hotel. We found the food to be delicious and the bartender to be as good as any we encountered in Europe. Quite simply, this hotel is as nice as any Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton I've stayed in.

We spent one night while our cruise ship was docked overnight at the Hotel Londra Palace.

The location and hotel were gorgeous and worthy of it's 4 star rating. It is only a few steps away from St. Marks square and Vaporetto stops are just outside the hotel for easy traveling.

We only had a basic room without a view of the lagoon since there was only 1 room available when we booked so book well in advance to try to get a view. The room was still larger than I expected and worth every cent we paid.

The room was still very adequate with a nice view of the rooftops of Venice. The room was well equipped and the air conditioning worked great in the 95 degree heat! There was no street noise having a room at the back of the hotel.

The front desk staff were accommodating, although a little reserved.

The breakfast buffet in the morning was basically cold dishes (Cereal, breads, meats, fruits and yogurts). It was more than adequate and you could sit out at the sidewalk restaurant area which was just fantastic!

I would most certainly stay here again, but would book earlier to get a deluxe room with a view.

The Londra Palace is a grand small hotel on the Lagoon (aka Grand Canal) in Venice. We spent 5 nights there in a room facing the water (at our request), and watching the boats come in was a magnificent sight. ?Our room wasn't huge at all, but certainly comfortable. OK, the bathroom was huge, but the room itself was a bit cramped. Not really a problem. The hotel staff is fantastic, competent and caring, with great English (!). We stayed two rooms down from where Tchaikovsky composed his 4th symphony, which meant something to us as musicians! We had stayed there once before and we would definitely return!

Room Tip: Staying on the water "makes" it for me!

What a pleasant surprise. My wife and I arranged for a pre-cruise (on our own) prior to traveling to Rome to pick up an Oceania cruise last month. We booked the Londra Palace because it was on the Grand Canal near the Lagoon. We were actually 2 bridges from St. Marks Square which made the area perfect for seeing what Venice has to offer. We were able to walk just about anywhere including the other side of the island. What struck us both about this property is that we had a full view of the canal actually 4 or maybe 5 full size windows opening up on the canal. We booked this hotel because we wanted an upscale property but really didn't want to stay at the Danielle and pay the high prices for what would most likely been an alley or inside view. Our suite had a large sitting area with beautiful antique furniture. Marble bath a must for my wife and a very large king bed. Our room included free WiFi which worked well and free breakfast in the morning. The staff couldn't have been friendlier from the room staff to the restaurant staff and of course the front desk people. They were attentive, polite and eager to give us tips on restaurants and such. If there is anything lacking it's a grand lobby like the Danielle. Not a bad trade off. Full lagoon view for 3/4 the price. With the savings we were able to have cocktails at the Danielle dinner at two fine restaurants and shopping for gifts the 3 days we were there.

We have been to Venice before but this was the best. Great hotel, great service and a great view.......Stay at the Londra Palace and you won't go wrong. Ask for a high floor and be nice to them. Your kindness will be rewarded I promise. By for now.

I am writing this review from the hotel lobby; we are in the 3rd day of our 4 day stay at the Londra Palace. In general, this is an excellent hotel. The service has been superb, the staff has been very accommodating and attentive. The location is unbeatable; you walk out the hotel and you are right in the middle of the action, next to a water taxi stop and within minutes of San Marco square. Even so, the room has been perfectly quiet in the mornings despite the hustle and bustle outside. The beds are lovely and comfortable, the room size is decent, and the room restrooms are nice albeit a bit small. The breakfast is good, again the service at breakfast has been terrific. Hotel decor in the lobby, restaurant and room is nice enough, not too much to say about it either way. The daily selection of English-language newspapers is a nice touch, and they will deliver to your room in the morning if requested. My two complaints about this hotel are that the internet service is simply awful. No connection at all in the room, and spotty and slow connection in the lobby, despite the front desk claiming that the service is working fine. The hotel really needs to fix this, as it has been a source of frustration and annoyance for us and other travelers staying at the hotel. The second problem is the shower head in room 400, which shoots intermittent bullets of water making bathing a painful and unpleasant experience and creates a small lake on the floor each time we shower.

Room Tip: Our room faced the back of the hotel. The view isn't as nice as the front overlooking the canal...

Dear Madam,

thank you for your nice review about the Londra Palace.
We are pleased to know that you enjoyed your stay at the Londra Palace.
After reading your review, I immediately checked the room n. 400 and the shower was already fixed by our maintenance staff. We apologize for the inconvenience.
As far as Wifi is concerned, altough the system is new, we are experiencing problems in some rooms located at the end of the hallways as the signal is lower than expected. In the next months we will enhance all the system. We are sorry if you encountered problems also in the lobby as generally the signal is good.

Yours sincerely

The hotel is in a perfect location and immediately adjacent to all the forms of water transportation but everything in the hotel (except for the beds and air conditioning!) feels dated and in need of a solid renovation. We found the staff to be attentive but not particularly friendly but that might have been due to English not being their first language (at one point I tried to give the front desk clerk some suggestions on how they could improve their web site but finally had to give up trying to get my point across).

Dear Madam,

after reading your review, we wonder if you really stayed at the Londra Palace.
Our Hotel has been renovated recently, we didn't renovate only the beds and air conditioning of course !
The staff speaks English and, if you have any suggestions regarding the website, you could write me at the following address : info@londrapalace.com
