Having been to Hotel Londra Palace twice before I had no hesitation which hotel to stay in Venice. I decided to spend more on the hotel room & upgraded to a suite. My wife's face when we went into the room and she saw the spectacular view across the lagoon was all the thanks I needed. After walking and taking all that Venice has to offer have a drink outside on the terrace, and watch the world go by.The choice for the evening meal could be better. The staff were as always attentive & polite.

My wife and I rented an apartment in Rome for 3 months that we have used as our base to travel around Italy and Southern Europe. We have just spent five days in Croatia and we finished our journey in Venice. I picked the Londra Palace as our final hotel because of its location and more reasonable prices when compared to the other fine hotels on the Grand Canal.

The hotel is an excellent example of the Relais & Chateaux brand. It is elegant and it is staffed with people who are not only professional, but who make you feel right at home. The concierge was amazing in helping us find spots that we would have certainly missed without his help. He also suggested a wonderful restaurant and took care of the reservations for us. Our room was small, but very comfortable. The linens and towels were superb and the bathroom accessories were terrific. Our small room afforded us with an amazing view of the Grand Canal and all of the boats that were on it. It was truly an amazing sight. The room was very clean and housekeeping and turndown service was excellent. The bed was large and comfortable and I should mention that the breakfast was terrific with a large selection of cereals, fruit, meats, cheeses, yogurts, eggs, bacon, etc. on a terrace that is perfect for people watching. We certainly enjoyed our stay at this very fine hotel.

I would be totally remiss if I didn't share the following story as part of my review. We checked out of our room at noon and caught a water taxi that took us to the train station. We then got a bite to eat before heading to our train. When we got to the platform there was a man asking everyone who was headed to the train if they were Mr. and Mrs. (our last name). My wife and I were surprised and said that we were the couple that he was looking for. He informed us that we had left our passports in the room safe. He then made arrangements to have them sent to the train station by water taxi. He stayed with us to help us change our train tickets to next train (which left one hour later). Then he waited with us until the water taxi arrived and to make sure our passports were there and in good order. The Londra Palace really cares about their guests and this quick story tells volumes about the lengths that they will go for their guests. This would be the only hotel in Venice that I would recommend to my friends and family. Thank you Londra Palace for going the extra mile ... My wife and I really appreciate all of your efforts.

The Hotel Londra Palace was certainly spectacular with much attention to detail in the building and the rooms. We had a Junior Suite which had just about the most spectacular view of Venice possible from it's 4 floor to high ceiling windows across the lagoon. The bathroom was equally special with everything you could want from a special bathroom.
However it was very expensive and they didn't give anything away for nothing - some fruit in the room would have been nice and free bottled water in the minibar.Room service was very, very slow and you could die waiting for a very expensive cup of tea in the morning. Breakfast was very good with an excellent selection of eats. The evening meal was however very disappointing and ludicrously expensive and not good value
The staff were most polite and helpful and would try to do everything they could for you.
Considering that this must be one of the busiest parts of Venice, just off St Marks Square and the Doges Palace, the double glazing shut out all the noise so that we slept very well.
If you are a classicist ask to see Tchaikowski's bedroom, room 106 it's certainly worth a visit.
Overall we spent 5 happy days there and the staff were most helpful !

Room Tip: Get a junior suite overlooking the lagoon it really is the best view in Venice or anywhere else we h...

Dear Sir,

thank you for choosing the Londra Palace and for posting nice review.
We have taken note of your suggestions regarding extra amenities in the rooms.
We are sorry that your evening meal at our Restaurant Do Leoni was disappointing but it is not clear if the problem was the food or the service, we would be pleased if you could let us kow which aspect of the dinner has to be improved.

We hope to welcoming you again at the Londra Palace.

great location, and great service. You must ask rooms on Grand Canal, absolutely. A very good breakfast. Only few minutes to St-Mark Square, near vaporetto stops, ferries, gondolas. Venice is an exceptionnel place, and here you are in the best place....

Location - perfect, central to everything important
Room - classic Venetian style, beautiful interiors, very high end finishes in room as well, although weird half shower door and water kept getting everywhere
Staff - friendly and helpful, English speaking
Breakfast - best breakfast spread of the trip, over the top

Overall - superb, will stay again if we go back to Venice

We stayed at the Londra Palace to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary for four days from 7th April and have to say we were not disappointed. The location is fantastic, right on the water front with easy access to ferries (we took one to Venice LIdo and one along the length of the Grand Canal). it can be extremely busy outside the hotel, as it is only a few minutes walk to St Marks Square, ferries, gondolas, bridge of sighs and all of the famous attractions, but the actual hotel itself was very peaceful and we didn't have any problems with noise at night, we had three rooms on the 2nd floor overlooking the Grand Canal with balconies, the view from which was beautiful and nice to people watch. We liked this location as everything was within easy reach. The room decoration and facilities were what you would expect of this starred hotel and perhaps more. Breakfast was good and we ate in the hotel one evening which was good, but not particularly outstanding. There were plenty of good quality restaurants within easy walking distance. The prices in Venice, particularly dining out, are very expensive, which I must admit at times we felt a little taken advantage of. There were five of us, the hotel evening meal cost us £450 E and on average eating out the evening cost us about £250/75 E ( we did not have a lot of alcohol either usually 1 glass of mineral water, 3 cokes and a baccardi and coke). We Very much enjoyed our stayed in Venice and the Londra Palace and would definitely recommend both.

Room Tip: Would highly recommend a Grand Canal view with balcony

What a delight to be shown to such a lovely room right on the canal. It was a dream! The service was fabulous and the breakfast buffet absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were great and even sent my son off with a breakfast box for an early morning flight. Worth the extra EUS

Room Tip: Enjoy. Even some of the rooms not facing the canal had fun views.
