My friend and I stayed here for three nights and we can't find a bad thing to say about this hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and we couldn't fault the service. It's conveniently close to the train station and within walking distance of lots of restaurants and the famous sights. The best advice we were given by the hotel was to buy a water bus ticket so we could just hop on and off at any stop that appealed to us as many times as we liked during the period the ticket was valid for. We went for the 36 hour ticket which at 25 Euros each was great value and much cheaper than paying for guided tours.

We stayed here for four nights from 15th to 18th November and truly can’t think of a bad thing to say – we found everyone so welcoming and helpful.
On arrival, we were just chatting with the lady on the front desk ‘as you do’ and mentioned that it was our anniversary treat, when we returned that day we found a silver tray left on our bed with small bottle of Prosecco and two champagne glasses – a lovely gift and very unexpected.
Our room was on the top floor did look a bit unusual from the outside – but inside - it was lovely with classic Venetian silk lined walls, a very comfortable bed and a delightfully quirky shower room and a real bonus – a small fridge. There were views from the terrace across the rooftops and the canal to the side.
The breakfast options should satisfy anyone – four choices of cereals, yoghurts, croissants, toast, various breads, preserves, cakes, sweet tarts, eggs, ham, cheese, fruits, juice, tea, and coffee. Not like some where you leave and head for the nearest café for a top up.
The whole building is spotlessly clean and exudes a friendly feel. This was our fourth visit to Venice and the first time at the Hesperia – we would definitely book there again.

Room Tip: Room 301 is on the roof with its own patio table and is adjacent to the public terrace. Highly recom...

A short walk from the train station. The boat to the airport is just across the canal. The night man even put breakfast out for us even thought we were leaving before breakfast time. Just be aware that this hotel has no elevator. When we checked in they carried our baggage upstairs

Room Tip: At this point of my life I look for clean, good location and great staff. My choice is 2 or 3 stars...

Great hotel interior bit drab but great staff great breakfast and great location just five minutes from railway station and main town. Would I stay here again YES also a short walk into town and don't forget your camera. Need to do your homework on eating out some places are a bit expensive . the one other thing was ice cream we paid 10 Euro s for one cone so ask price before you buy.

Spent two nights at Hotel Hesperia. Follow the directions on their website and you should have no problem finding it. There's a back way, too, that passes a lovely little public park, so look for that if you stay more than a day. The room was spacious, nicely decorated, and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. When I mentioned at check in that I had fallen on the bridge between the bus depot and train station, bruising both knees, the hotel proprietor brought a bag of ice up to my room. She also extended my wifi when I wasn't able to log out properly. The wifi situation is ridiculous but it's an Italy issue, not the hotel's.

The breakfast was reasonable. Very European with some attempts to Americanize. The door key issue is also fairly standard for small European hotels. It's a system for keeping track of who's in the hotel and who wants to carry a door-knob size key around anyway?

Room Tip: Even in the cold of November mosquitoes are present and hungry. If you leave your windows open at ni...

Pro:
-location: close to water taxi stop and train station
-service: staff is very friendly and fluent in English
-cleanliness: room is clean
-breakfast: free breakfast

Con:
- key policy: you need to leave the key at the front desk and get it back when you come back; since the key is also used to open the safe deposit; we didn't leave our passport in the safe.
- wifi: wifi isn't free
- noise: the wall is thin and you can hear the noise from the street at night, but we can tolerate

Room Tip: keep in mind there is no elevator; the wall is a little bit thin

This is a B&B and location wise its great as its near the train station. You just need to be able to find it - and as is all places in Venice, finding it can be a challenge if you don't have a map on your smartphone. (Don't use address in Venice - even Venitian find it difficult if you simply ask them about a place by giving them an address). Have a map!

The hotel gave us a corner room which is huge by european standards. Overall its liveable but don't expect 4 star and above living amenities. Everything including the toilet is just basic.

But with all B&B, the breakfast are rather personal and having breakfast in a small corner of the hotel can be rather dainty experience.

Overall it ain't bad, because for me, the price of staying there is truly a value on its own.

Room Tip: Just along the canal of the hotel lies a delicious seafood restaurant. Its near the bridge. You cann...
