We came across this little place by accident, but what a lucky find! This was our first experience of the Venice cicchetti and relished the selection of little bites available from the counter. We had 5 or 6 things between the two of us, all delicious, and matching very well with an ice cold glass of prosecco...oh I want to go back and have some more!

This is a great little place to stop for the best "cicchetti"! You can point and choose from a very large variety of little snacks from bread with wonderful toppings: baccala', mozzarella and tomato, local delicacies, all sorts of fresh sea food, or small sandwiches, or the wonderful mouthfuls of fried tidbits. They will bring your plate and a glass of wine to your table just outside where you can people watch to your heart's content. Service is good but it tends to be very busy around the middle of the day. 4-5 snacks & a glass of wine was around 11 Euro and kept me going until a late Italian dinner.

Agree with recent reviews. Great little spot 5 mins from Rialto bridge on San Polo side & just back from the tourist strip. We sat back with a wine or 3 & experienced our first rain event in Italy - which was quite a novelty in itself. Good service - Menu in italian so went with waitress's selection which was spot on except for one really strong fish dip.

Would have been a reasonable price except we over ordered to try a selection of the polpetti..which we both agreed were dry & a sappointing compared to the rest of the cicchetti. But would we go back....absolutely..but a bit more selective next time.

Besides All 'Arco, this place was, for us, the best cicheti we ate in Venice.
It was super fresh and fabulously tasty with interesting combinations that burst with flavour.
Wines and prosecco great too.
We stood at the bar, but if you're lucky you can snag a seat in the laneway.
Recommended.

My husband, a writer, passed some weeks in Venice and we met at the Zemei! We loved it very much: the friendly owners, smiling gentle Erica and their wines and spritz with Campari, not Aperol. The bruschettas are excellent and do are the polpettas. We passed every evening there and loved every minute.
