“Fabulous!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 September 2012

We paid in advance for the water taxi to take us across the lagoon into Venice. Well worth doing to get there but not going back as had to leave the hotel at 7.30 am for a 12.15 flight so best to make other arrangements for that.
The Le Isole is in the perfect location and very easy to find without having to drag one’s luggage far (a bonus with all those cobbled lanes and bridges). A stone’s throw from the monument and less than five minutes to St Mark’s Square. It is down a small lane, next to a canal, is very quiet but with life going on around you and you do get to see the gondolas passing by!
The hotel is small, only 12 or so rooms. They are most welcoming and immediately know who you are. The rooms are not huge but plenty big enough, with mini bar, free WiFi and Sky tv. The bathrooms have a bath and shower. We had a room that overlooked a lane with a restaurant in and one could watch people walking backwards and forwards. We found it very quiet with good double glazing and air conditioning. It was very clean and the cleaners were very quiet and unassuming.
The dining area was small but one could sit outside in the small courtyard, which was lovely and so hard to believe that one was in the middle of Venice.
The staff were wonderful; helpful, cheerful but not over the top and willing to help in whatever way they could. Breakfast was buffet style but one could have cooked if wanted. There was a wide choice of food, cereals, meats, cheeses, croissants etc. There are no evening meals but with so many to choose from in Venice it wasn’t needed.
It would have been nice to have had a little more information in their hotel folder, not essential but helpful.
Cost wise I think it is probably average but well worth every penny but Venice is very expensive.
Walking around Venice is exhausting and not for the faint hearted. There is a lot to see, but no seats anywhere and you are definitely not allowed to sit down in St Mark’s square, unless it is in a cafe, which I found very irritating. Few seats on the waterfront as well, which is a fabulous place to just watch, with all the comings and goings so to have a hotel so central was just perfect.
We had a really lovely time in Venice and I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone going there without hesitation. Thank you to all, it was fabulous.

Summary:
1. Excellent location within walking distance to St. Marks Square. You can walk around safely at night.
2. Clean, comfortable rooms. Recently remodeled with nice showers. Fairly spacious for Europe.
3. Right on small canal if you are interested in a Gondola ride.
4. Delicious free breakfast buffet.

Thanks to Tripadvisor, we booked this great hotel. Clean rooms, great location, courteous staff. What else can you ask for? By the way, there is a restaurant right across from this hotel which has delicious food but is rather underrated on Tripadvisor. It is called Da Roberto. You can take 20 steps from the hotel and have yourself a great meal.

At night, you can safely walk around and get Gelato and shop up to around 9 PM because this hotel is centrally located. This is an extra perk if you don´t have much time in Venice.

The title says it all! An absolutely fantastic time. The Hotel and their lovely staff could not do enough to help celebrate my friends birthdays - 3 birthdays in all - I think we took over the hotel just about! The weather was great, restaurants and sightseeing fabulous. Yes it can be expensive but take the time to hunt out the hidden away places too and it doesn't have to be. I will certainly be back to this lovely hotel and oh yes - I so enjoyed the venetian sprizters!! Thank you for making it so wonderful!

This is a fantastic hotel right in the heart of Venice. It's a short walk from the water bus stop at San Marco, and is relatively easy to find (although we did have quite a good map).

All of the staff in the hotel are really friendly, and are on the right side of helpful. Not overbearing but there if you need anything.

Our room was a little on the small side but had a gorgeous bathroom and possibly the largest bed I've ever slept in.

Breakfast was served from 7am - 12 noon, there's a good choice of food and it's served in a lovely courtyard at the back of the hotel. It was always quiet, we only ever saw one or two other couples at breakfast time.

With so many hotels to choose from it's difficult knowing where to start but this hotel is perfect. I can recommend Hotel Le Isole, there's nothing bad to say about it!!!

I loved the style of this little hotel: the rooms are small because it is like that in this highly touristic small island. The hotel is very silent. The receptionists are really kind, helpful and concerned and the nice young ladies serving breakfast are also very friendly. Breakfast is good with a little buffet containing, all you need , really, and it is relaxing to eat breakfast in the patio if the weather allows. I hate crowded buffet breakfasts so having breakfast here was lovely. The rooms are cleaned properly and bed linen and towels are nice....you do not see or hear the cleaners (unless you wake up late, I suposse). Its is a nice and quite hotel with only 13 rooms and very adequate for adults. Mini bar and a hotel bar available . Conveniently near St Markus square yet a quite place. Near St Zacharia vaporetto stop.

We liked everything but just to find something that could be improved: the small soap and shampoo bottles are difficult to open when you have wet hands, I had to use my mouth !! so I guess getting screw- on tops would be better . Another little thing: staff preparing breakfast should maybe learn that in order to make a nice cup of tea , the water should be just boiling when poured on the tea bag. It is no use bringing a tea pot with boiled water and some tea bags in a plate, that does not make a good tea at all, it is tasteless! so i encourage them to make the tea and then bring it ready to the table together with lemon slices and a jug of cold milk for the client to choose how to drink it.

My wife and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary and were impressed with the central location, friendly staff and tasty breakfasts!

We were able to walk to St Mark's in no time and there's a great Trattoria just across the river by the nearest bridge.

The hotel was clean and pleasant and provided us with exactly the base we needed to venture out into the city.

This hotel is fabulous. One block back from the grand canal on a smaller canal yet in the centre of everything. The rooms are beautiful and spotless. Breakfast was very good and served in a lovely courtyard. All the staff were very helpful and accommodating. I couldn't say a bad thing about this hotel. Even by north American standards, this hotel would be higher than 3 stars.
