We had read John Berendt's, The City of Fallen Angels so made the Teatro La Fenice on top of our must see list in Venice. We were not disappointed. We went early on a Sunday afternoon. There was a set being constructed for a Tosca performance that afternoon. So enticing that we came back later in the week to see Tosca. Interesting there was fire fighting officials on site during the performance just in case. They are serious about preventing another fire burning down this beautiful structure.
I must say, I had never seen an opera before we visited Venice. I am now hooked.
