We had the Branzino in zucchini crust, sole in soar (a red onion,pine nut vinegar and raisin sauce), fettccini bolonaise, asparagus with boiled egg, and creme caramel. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The pasta was thin and delicious. It was rolled out, cut and cooked after we placed our order and we ate every bite. The fish was excellent as well. It is a small restaurant a few steps off the main walkway, easily missed. Small menu because each item is something special. Highly recommend.

The concierge at the Boscolo Venezia recommended La Colombina as an authentic Venetian restaurant, We found it to be a welcoming, immaculately clean and delicious! My husband and I had two lovely meals that included 5 opportunities to try new food, prepared in exciting ways. Artichokes on red pepper sauce, cuttlefish on grilled radicchio, a spectacular strawberry parfait and transcendent anchovies on sweet onions.

Definitely one of the highlights of our stay in Venice!

The most amazing food ever. Staff very friendly and service exceptional. Food and service so good we went back a second time. Only wished we had found this restaurant on our first day and not our third.

On the recommendation from the front desk at the Bocolo Venezia hotel, we landed at a quaint, cost restaurant tucked in an alley. La Columbina was just the meal we were seeking after travelling and arriving late into the city. The owner's english was superb and she made my wife and I feel at ease. We weren't looking for a super expensive spot - instead we hoped to find a great meal, at a fair price and get the sense that the locals ate here. They did. The menu was both in Italian and English but I was still confused by some of the seafood terms. The owner called the chef from the kitchen to more accurately explain some of the dishes. Our scallop appetizer was served in enormous scallop shells. FYI - don't touch the shells - they are REALLY hot. Next they created a lobster dish with pasta for my wife; and I got the spaghetti with fresh clams. Both were delicious and plentiful. I also had two classes of wine. The total bill was 68 Euro - certainly a fair price. At 10pm we were the only two people left eating in the restaurant. We didn't feel rushed or hurried. In fact the owner was nice enough to engage us in nice conversation. And here's the best part. If you didn't hear about this restaurant here - you probably would know about it. It's about a 30 minute walk north of St Marks, but in a festive, thriving residential community. You'll love the alleys, the shops, the cafe's - and you're certain to love La Columbina.
