“I love this place.”
Reviewed 10 November 2013

This is what I was looking for in my stay in Venice - nice, clean and friendly place to stay that was a classic Italian hotel. The room was small but whenever I had stayed anywhere in Europe the rooms have been. We took the suggestion from TripAdvisor to get a room over looking the garden and were very happy with the out come.

The front desk gentlemen who was there most nights and Saturday morning was Andrew. He was so very helpful, answered tons of questions and was willing to share many Venice stories. He seemed to love what he was doing. When he couldn't off the top of his head answer a question, he once called our room about 30 minutes later or another time had computer print out at the front desk waiting for us.

There was a young (cute) cleaning lady that while she cleaned she would sing. She had a great voice and you would always know when she was working because you would hear the singing. She did not understand much English but turned beet red when I told her she sung beautifully. She even would talk to the cats in the court yard and they seem to know her.

The breakfast was a classic Best western style but with the perfect Italian twist. The staff there worked like crazy to keep every to be just right.

The location could not have been beaten. Just a few minutes away from the boats and a short distance from the buses which can be important if you have lots of bags.

I do not know a thing i would have changed.

Room Tip: I highly recommend getting a room facing the garden courtyard. Facing the canals - you would have to...

I made a reservation for October 9 and 10. I checked it out online prior to booking and the rooms looked nice and comfortable. When we arrived, we were given a room that was so small, my husband had to sit on the bed (which was pushed right up against the wall) in order for me to walk by to use the bathroom. It could have been no wider than 8 feet. It was like a closet--very claustrophobic. This room did not even come close to the pictures on line!

I immediately asked for a different room and was told that that is the type of room that was booked. When I asked if I could upgrade they were sold out of their other rooms. When I asked about the price of the room, they quoted me $225. I booked this room with AMX Travel rewards at the rate of $305 a night,

When we left, I again mentioned to the desk attendant that I was not happy with the very, very small room and she mentioned that next time we should book directly through the hotel to get a better room. So be Sure to clarify that you are getting a room as shown on the internet and not the "closet".

On the positive side, the location and breakfast was excellent. Easy and reasonable to get to taking a shuttle from the airport.

Room Tip: Ask for a room as represented on their website. Tell them you do not want the "closet" si...

Dear Guests,
We are very sorry for not having fulfilled your expectations. Let’s try to reply to your feedback step by step:
The reservation made for you was for a room type Economy Annex, which means a room smaller size than a standard room, or a room located in a separate building with no elevator service. We accommodated you into the main building, small size room, but nicely furbished, cured down to the minimum details, garden view, quiet and relaxing.
We were booked and no other options available ( it was a last minute reservation ).
At the check-out we invited you to book directly through us in order to avoid any kind of misunderstanding, as the one occurred during your stay. The fact is that we received your reservation through a web site, which did not have good care of informing you about the room type booked for you.
Concerning the points used to pay the room night, you should contact Amex directly, to clarify this issue. We quoted you Euros 225,00, which are at today’s exchange rate $ 302,00.
It is our great regret, that you think we accommodated you in our worst room, since our policy is to be absolutely customer oriented.
Heartily sorry for not having satisfy your needs, we kindly ask you to accept our apologies for the inconvenience occurred.
Our kindest regards,
The Hotel Management

First, don't think of this small hotel as a Best Western like those in the US. The quality if much higher. Location is fantastic in terms of ease to get to, 5 minute walk from Piaziale Roma and near cruise terminal.Have been to Venice multiple times, but this time took the express bus to Piazziale Roma, and walked accross to small bridges to the hotel. The room(superior) was lovely and obviously updated with windows over looking the canal. Breakfast was a buffet and the capocinos yummy. Only draw back was size of the elevator that fit maybe two thin people. Highly reccommended for stay if coming or going on cruise(as we were), but also easy to get around Venice to tour also.

My husband and I stayed here with some friends in late September. We were pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get to the hotel. It's just a 20 minute bus ride from the airport, then a 2 minute walk to the hotel.
The hotel was very clean and the facilities were good. The staff were extremely helpful, especially the lady who was on reception in the evenings. When we asked for tea making facilities, she sorted it straight away and she also booked us a gondola ride, which was fantastic.
The breakfast was delicious and much better than some that we have had in european hotels.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning to visit Venice. It is a beautiful city which we hope to return to some day.

Room Tip: The superior rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated.

As many others have stated, we too wanted a hotel which was walkable from the train station (arrived from Florence) and to the People Mover. We stayed 3 nights prior to our cruise to have more time to explore the city. Our room was on the 4th floor and due to the small lift (which is normal for European hotels), we used the stairs the majority of the time even to carry our luggage up/down. Should be noted that the hotel staff did offer to bring our luggage up for us but we were ok with doing it ourselves. We had a room facing the garden which was relatively spacious, modern bath, and very quiet - only a bit of noise in the morning when breakfast started (we had the windows open as it was unusually warm for late Oct.) The hotel staff was very friendly and was impressed by the selection at breakfast. We received a complimentary drink card for the hotel bar but never used as we were out & about during all of our waking hours. Would definitely stay here again when in Venice.

Room Tip: If you are unable to use stairs, request room on lower floor as lift is small and takes time.

Very nice room; amazingly convenient location to people mover(from cruise terminal), vaporettos (canal boats), and bus terminals however on a canal with a wonderful garden area that provides a sense of Venice without the hustle and bustle happening blocks away. What makes this hotel really special is the warm and ever helpful front desk staff who answered our questions, provided great advice and guarded our luggage before check-in and after check out. We made a reservation at the wrong airport for our final day before flying home. The Hotel Olimpia worked with us to straighten out the problem with patience and considerable effort that went above and beyond what we had every right to expect. You may find a super luxurious hotel but you won't find staff like this in very many places.
