“Great Place and Location”
Reviewed 7 May 2014

We stayed here from May 6 to May 9, 2014 - Room #203. Having never been to Venice, Italy, this hotel was hard to find but once we did, we found it to be in the best location. The hotel is visible from the parking lot at the Piazzale Roma which is one of the main stops along the Grand Canal. Marta is incredibly helpful and was able to direct us to great restaurants, which vaporetto to take and which places to avoid. Every hotel should have a Marta! Breakfast is included in the price of the room and this hotel offers a wide range of breakfast items to choose from. The rooms are tastefully decorated, the shower is barely big enough to turn around in but we managed to get the job done. There is no pool or restaurant located within the hotel. The elevator is TINY. It says it can hold 3 persons but I believe that would be a very tight fit. The room rate was $330 USD per night but all of Venice is pricey. All of the staff that we interacted with were incredibly helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Venice.

Room Tip: Garden view rooms are quieter

We stayed one night at Hotel Olimpia on our last night in Venice. The location was perfect for getting off the train and getting to the airport the next day. The neighborhood was surprisingly nice. The staff was welcoming and humorous, and the breakfast was great. Our room had a view of the canal, but the views of the garden were even nicer. The hotel was clean and the bathrooms were very nice.

Great hotel and lovely staff. It was my birthday when we stayed and the hotel manager kindly brought me a bottle of wine. I didn't even tell them but they noticed upon check in it was so the surprise was a lovely touch!

Our room was also quite spacious (surprisingly for Italy!) and very quite.

Location is fantastic. It may be a while to San Marco but you go there once and the walk is only 30 minutes, which goes very quickly in Venice. The hotel was right near the bus and train stations so it was very perfect for arriving and leaving with heavy luggage - believe me you do not want to take you luggage over more bridges then you need to.

Would stay here again!

The hotel requires only one bridge to cross from Piazzale Roma the major bus stop from the airport so for us it was perfect. The walk was literally 5 minutes from the bus to the door. The downside is we could see the bus stops at then piazzale from our window.
But the staff was more than friendly they were knowledgeable and efficient. Breakfast was wonderful and eat it outside in their courtyard it transports you to a quite place unlike the mass of humanity you will find in Venice. The rooms were traditional and similar to other hotels of this class.

We've been to Venice quite a few times; this time was a mere convenience in order to visit friends in Padova and then to move on to Florence on our way to Rome for the canonization of the 2 Popes. The Olimpia, as many have said, is located perfectly for bus, rail and airport connection. The hotel itself is very quaint, with a lovely green space in the back. The breakfast is very good and more than ample. The staff is very kind and helpful. The one detraction is the lack of air conditioning. You have to open the windows; and the mosquitoes are already in action. They have mosquito "bombs", but they only work partially. You have to take the bad with the good, I guess.

Hotel was clean, well maintained, room was lovely, lots of choice at breakfast, service was good and we were made to feel welcome. Was perfect location for getting around Venice as right at bus station and water bus not far to walk any where also if you don't fancy the water bus.

stayed here 27th-29th March. Purposely choose this hotel as close to the bus station and water taxi's. Staying at this end of Venice meant we could wonder around on foot from one end to the other without completely missing anything in between
Breakfast good choice and plenty of it. We were given a garden view room on the 2nd floor and enjoyed the views, this is probably one of the few hotels with a lovely little grassed patio section which you can also eat breakfast outside in the sun.
Hotel receptionists very very helpful, Gloria and George are a credit to the hotel often giving traveller tips on boat trips and nearby restaurants, and always happy to help.
The only small issue we had, is that we booked two double rooms and when all 4 of us left to go sightseeing we did place the 'do not disturb' sign on the front of the door, however when we came the room had been entered and made up. No bother for some, however the sign should be observed in case one of us were sleeping or in the bathroom.
Other than that, we had a great time here and would stay again.
