“We love Venice”
Reviewed 24 May 2012

Hotel was in a brilliant location. After being shown room I checked with reception to see if they had a cat, just to see if there was room to swing one in our bedroom. There wasn't.

It was tiny and had the worst view across some roofs next door that I've ever had from a hotel. My wife and I had to vaseline ourselves every day just to be able to squeeze ourselves into the tiny bathroom. We had only two medium cases, the room was so small that they took up most of the room.

Reception were pleasant and helpful though. Didn't use the restaurant because I could have had a three week holiday in Spain for the price of a meal for the two of us.

Venice is one of the most stunning cities in the world but is eye-wateringly expensive, but if you want to see it you've go to expect to pay the rip-off prices.

I did a lot of research on hotels in Venice before settling for the Hotel Concordia. I was travelling with my mum and my sister (it was their first time in Venice so there would be a lot of walking around) so I thought that it would be good to stay central. It was a good decision. The vaporetto from the airport dropped us off at Sant Marco, a 5 minute walk to the hotel. On arrival we were welcomed by Giuliano Brogliato, the friendly and professional head concierge who took us to the bar and offered us complimentary drinks while our room was being prepared.
We stayed in two different rooms. The first night, we stayed in a small suite on the first floor with a small balcony overlooking Saint Marco square. On the second night, we moved to a larger and more modern suite (room 316) on the third floor. The first room we had sounds similar to some described by other reviewers, small, cramped and classically decorated. However, room 316 was beautiful and modern... the highlight being the roof top terrace overlooking the square complete with table and chairs. The room had two bathrooms, one had the toilet and the other one the bathtub and was very roomy.
The breakfast buffet was good, there was plenty of fresh fruit, eggs and bacon, breads etc. The cappuccinos they make for you on demand are amazing, the fresh fruit juices are not very good though.
The best thing about this hotel, apart from its location, is the staff. They can´t do enough for you: we had a complementary bottle of prosecco sent to the room for a minor problem with our suitcases, borrowing an umbrella was not a problem and we were able to check out at 14:00 (normal check out time was 12:00).
It is not cheap, but its location allows you to go back to your room for a quick rest.
Our stay in the hotel Concordia was excellent and will return in my next visit.

Outstanding location and service. Head Concierge Guiliano made our recent stay in Venice truly memorable. With a room overlooking St. Mark's Square, to booking private guided tours and restaurant recommendations, we could have not asked for more.

We expected to be in a good location, but had not appreciated how much easier staying in the Concordia made our trip. You really only have to leave the hotel turn a corner and are in St Marks square. It was noisy in our room, as we were facing the busy street, but this was more than compensated for by the ease of access 9there is no lift though). Excellent continental breakfast too.The staff were all friendly, helpful and multilingual. Thank you especially Guilliano.

Hi Was with my family for new years 2011, the hotel was great, location perfect. right in Plaza San Marcos which is the best place to stay in Venice. Price was right, and staff very helpfull. Hotel was elegant, room very spacious. I was traveling with my wife and 2 daughters, 20 and 17. And we all have a great time. If you are planning to go to Venice, think in something near to Plaza San Marcos, by the way the show for new years, fireworks, security, organization was terrific! Great I will come to Venice again.

Room Tip: Don't worry about the view! any way wherever you go you will appreciate the beauty of Venice. Y...

Excellent Front Desk. Immensely helpful in recommending and organising the right restaurants, an excellent tour guide and transfers to/from the airport . Thank you Giuliano and the rest of the team.

The rooms were comfortable but rather old fashioned and would benefit from bring brought up to date. Our room on the first floor suffered a little from the noise of people and restaurants in the street below.
