the hotel was located by the bus and train station very handy means no lugging of cases or on and off the vapperetto we got the number 5 bus from the airport but you could get the water taxi
the hotel was down a very narrow side street from the canal side that is ,but you could get there from round the back were the lanes are wider ,room was adequate it was clean and the room was cleaned and linen changed everyday we were there for 5 days which we felt too long .the breakfast as mentioned in other reviews was the same everyday no toast machine ?? and there were no coffee or tea facilities in room for a hotel of this quality you would have thought there would have been ,wifi was ok for us best accessed from the lobby though we were on the !st floor and it was quite slow so the higher you go ??the air con worked ok but i did come back with a nasty cough not sure wether this was attributed to having to leave on all night as room was quite hot there are only two rooms with a balcony but all the hotel pictures show a room with a balcony so be aware ,the staff were friendly and all in all we had a good stay beware there is a bedroom tax in venice for a 3 star its 3 euros per person per night and 4 for a 4star and so on.
obviously were space is of a premium the room was never going to be large but you do not go on holiday to venice to spend your time in the hotel bedroom

This hotel is great. It's located within a walking distance to the train station, the breakfast is great, and my room was super clean. Wet even had a balcony! It was great to relax after a day of going up and down the bridges in Venice. The city is marvelous, and this hotel was perfect for us. The only con is the shower: it's a little small for tall people, it should be replaced.

Trick to find the hotel but the location is very nice. I arrived at Santa Lucia Train Station and left from Piazzale Roma and the hotel is very close from both.
The room was clean even the bathroom, but it was a little hot inside.
Breakfast and free wi-fi are good too.
I recommend this hotel and I would stay there again if I go to Venice for sure.

As a family of three, with a 10 year old girl, we stayed at this hotel for four days before Easter. It would have been difficult to find, except that it is associated with and around the corner from the Carlton Hotel, which is visible from the St Lucia train station steps. Ask at the Carlton and they easily direct you around the corner to the Capri. With proper arranging, our triple room was sufficiently large for three (and we do not travel light). We located three electric outlets for charging laptop and cameras. WiFi worked well in the room. The front desk staff was very friendly to us, and provided excellent information. The breakfast was good as well. The view from the room was of a pedestrian street. Overall, we found it pleasant, convenient, and worth the price.

Great location but a little difficult to find at night time. Carlton Capri is located near to bus station Piazzale Roma and train station (Santa Lucia). It takes about 5-7 min. to walk to the station. Our small and simple room was a little noisy because of lift and some storeroom. Friendly staff and the speak English in the desk. Clean and nice hotel.

We stayed here for 4 nights including our wedding anniversary, I've been to Venice twice before so understand rooms are small but as we had booked a superior room and e-mailed the hotel asking for a nice room I was a little disappointed with the size and location on the 2nd floor at the side of the hotel which is next to a school so it's really noisy in the morning with kids and parents. I'm not sure where the picture of the room with the balcony was taken from. Also there's no air con and the rooms are extremely hot and even with the window open full it made no difference and we just got bitten by mosquitos.every time you opened the hotel room door the heat just hit you. The room was very clean and the staff were friendly especially in the breakfast room, breakfast was ok but it was the same every day . Remember that there is a city tax in Venice of 3 euros per person per night ( maximum 5 nights) that is payable on check out in all hotels.

Stayed at the hotel for 1 night. Had booked a triple room. I found this place overpriced.

Pros:
1. Location: the hotel is located about 6-7 mins walk from the Venezia Santa Lucia station.
2. Hotel and the room were neat and clean.
3. The Ferrovia and Piazzale Roma waterbus stops are at a 5 min walk from this hotel. You can take the boats to San Marco square and Rialto bridge from both these stops.
4. The hotel has a lift / elevator. Many hotels in the area don't.
5. Wi-fi connectivity was good.

Cons:
1. No directions to the hotel, difficult to find. Had to ask a couple of people on the street to find this hotel.
2. The triple room was too small for 3 people. Could barely fit in our cabin bags.
3. The toilet door lock was not working
4. The breakfast was all frozen stuff.
5. The breakfast room is right by the reception. This makes the reception area smelly. It smells of stale / frozen meat.
6. The guy at the reception "Matteo" was expressionless. No welcome of any sorts, not even a smile to the guests checking-in. He refused to ACK the smell of the meat in the reception area.
