Booked this place from a Groupon deal and read all the good and bad reviews. So took it all with a grain of salt and came with no high expectations. When we arrived into the room, I understood where the bad reviews came from. It was old and the shower is very small. But to be honest, it was fine. Venice is old and there is not a lot of space so if there is a complaint about size and how old it is, then I suggest to throw down more money and book a room at the 5 star Danieli Hotel. The sheets and towels were clean. Housekeeping came every day. Soap and shampoo was provided. The decor was vintage old Venice- just like the pictures. It was cute and quaint, the old part is what it is. Yes, the bathroom might look dingy with the caulk needing to be improved, but all in all, it was clean. Didn't give me a huge ick factor, and I'm big on clean so this part worried me before my trip...but it was okay. The floors/walls are thin and I did hear people outside the room at about 4am. That didn't bother me much..it was the pigeons outside the room that were the loudest and woke me up every crack of dawn. Breakfast was average- Croissants, ham, cheese, yogurts, milk, juice. The cheap stuff. But very thankful for the fresh apples, muesli, and the coffee machine.

Wifi was good. Have to sign in with a code and password every time you go back to the room. Service was average. Not very friendly so don't expect warm smiles and greetings. Staff was there just to do their jobs, nothing more. Disappointing because you expect a nice feeling from the hospitality industry.

Last but not least, the LOCATION. AMAZING and PERFECT. It's right outside the Rialto Bridge and upon arriving, just ask a shop nearby where the hotel is and they will point you to the right direction. It's very easy to find. It's RIGHT NEXT to the Rialto Bridge, that itself is worth staying at this hotel. It's next to all the main sights and in the night time, so easy to get back. Especially if having drinks across the bridge at all the bars in that one square. Or if eating along the grand canal.

Couldn't get the radiator for the heat to work. The mini fridge was broken. Shower pressure was good.

We stayed a couple days at this hotel and find the staff to be
The room was old-fashioned, small, with very old scrappy furniture and badly sound-conditioned. We were walked up many times by someone in the room above us and next door us at about 00:00 am, 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. We were kept awake most nights.
You could also hear the bar in front of the hotel and the water pump of the hotel.
The pillows were lousy and we needed supplemental blankets.
the shower is super small.

The guy at the reception was rude and the staff miserable and not helpful. We had to request the room cleaning. We experienced that bad service.
Breakfast is served from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. but there is rapidly no more food and no restocking possible, the staff just forgot to order sufficent food... You'd better go for breakfast at 8:00 a.m.!

Very central: able to walk to the downtown attractions (Rialto bridge, Dodge's Palace, ....) and shopping.
The building did not meet our expectations.

Stayed here in peak season during summer of August 2013, and I have to say the hospitality was amazing. My mother left a very expensive item in her room and they gladly posted it back all the way to Australia! Couldn't get that at many places. The room was very nice, air-conditioning a welcomed addition and great location right next to the rialto bridge. Thank you very much for making our stay a great one! We will be back!

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms at the front of the building!

We booked this hotel for its location and 3* rating . Whilst the location was just as anticipated , the hotel failed miserably in every other department . The supposedly newly furnished room was cramped with just room to walk around the bed . The room was uncomfortably hot and the air conditioning appeared to have been deliberately disabled . The bathroom was very small and the shower temperature was erratic to put it mildly . The breakfast was a pathetically inadequate take on continental breakfast , we had to ask for rolls and croissants which seemed to irritate the staff . Perhaps worst of all was the noise at night - the passageway outside our room appeared to be a late night meeting point for locals and the noise continued until approaching midnight . We had a choice of opening the window to lower the stifling temperature and be kept awake by the drunks downstairs or cook in silence !! We would never stay here again and never recommend it .

Room Tip: Book elsewhere !

Location is great. Room looks great until you start looking at heavy dust accumulated on corner ropes (they run roof to floor), on floor corners on top of shelves, on the lamps. We had to report it, my wife and myself were coughing a lot due to allergies to dust. They finally came to the room and took pictures of the so-many places with heavy dust(it looked white) accumulation. The hair dryer in the bathroom was held together with tape and would only work for about 2 1/2 minutes and shut-off. We left a privace/do not enter paper on the door handle and I had to return for the camera I forgot and they were already inside the room. No respect for privacy. Bathroom shower ok. Best part was Manuel, the waiter/ and front desk at times. Respectful, polite, helpful. A great asset to the hotel. Stairs also very dusty.Breakfast only ok.

Room Tip: any room is ok. Check heavy dust. Windows are sound proof. Air conditioning/heat unit not working we...

We stayed in the junior suite but because their was 4 of us it was a regular family room. It looks as if you walk down a horrible alley to get to it but most of venice is like that, buildings are very close together. The location is excellent, so close to Rialto bridge and a 10 min walk to st marks sq. We arrived early but they happily took our bags and told us to come back in an hour while we explored. The room was deep red walls n floor, very clean and A/C worked great. We ate in the restaurant that evening, it was delicious but very pricey. Breakfast was included and plenty of choice.
