Spent two nights at this hotel in September which is located very close to train station and the Vaporetto taxi point. Very short and easy walk with luggage to the hotel. the hotel is well appointed and very good breakfast included in the room price. No complaints about the room, as we didn't spend that much time there. Only comment would be that there is no lift but this didn't affect us too much as hotel staff on hand to take suitcase to our floor. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Access over canal very close and numerous restaurants within walking distance.

This hotel is in a perfect location! It is a very short walk from the main train station and is very well located to explore Venice. The courtyard area is beautiful and such a treat in a city like Venice. The rooms are a decent size and the hotel is stunning!

My friend and I stayed here in September and were really impressed with the location and staff. As many others have commented, it's an easy walk from the railway station and close to a station to grab the boat up the canal. The staff was outstanding. Matteo at the front desk is worth his weight in gold for the shear entertainment value. He's witty and charming and so very helpful. Perfect example, my friend asked (figuring no way will he know) where the VAT station was at the airport. Matteo thinks for a moment and calls his sister who works/has worked at the Venice airport and gets the exact location which saved us a lot of time. Gabrielle saw me wander down with a bottle wine and without a second thought whips out glasses and locates a cork screw. Very attentive. Having to think hard about any downsides...about the only thing I can think of is if you take your breakfast outside in their lovely garden the pigeons clearly are used to being fed and will absolutely destroy any crumbs on unattended dishes. (Had to rescue some crockery from flying off the table next to us when a couple left...the flock descended within seconds of them vacating.) Not really a complaint when it's mother nature...

The Hotel is within a five minute walk of the train station and is easy to find. It is also very near the Vaporetto station which will take you to any site you want to see in beautiful Venice. The
hotel is in a former monastery and is quite luxurious. Room sizes are adequate especially if you get the superior double. The hotel provides an ample breakfast to start the day. We found the hotel staff to be very courteous and helpful. My next visit to Venice will definitely include the Hotel Abazzia.

What attracted me to this hotel was the fact that it was once a monastery whereas my wife chose it because of its closeness to the canal. The fact that it is only 10 minutes’ away from the Santa Lucia Railway Station made things easier for me and wife, both of whom were very tired after a really long journey. We were greeted by a very pleasant staff that was fluent in English, thus making our stay comfortable. The lounge was really charming and tasteful, like the rest of the hotel. Our rooms were really cozy, warm and comfortable with basic amenities like the air-conditioning and the shower in the bathroom working perfectly. The bed’s were really comfortable and a tired travelers delight. The aura here is one of calm and peace. I really loved this place and will recommend it to everyone.

We stayed here 2nd Sept. to 5th Sept 2013. Its just a stones throw from the main railway station, easily walkable with two large wheeled suitcases.

The room was good, clean, and well maintained, with everything that you could want in it, with one exception. No coffee or tea making facilities. (Though this seems to be the norm in Italy for a 3* hotel). Tea and coffee were, however, available in a lounge area downstairs

Breakfast was standard continental fare, but always fresh, with a mixture of meats, cakes, pastries, juices, cheese, etc.

Staff were very helpful when deciding what to do when, and arranged a 30 Euro discount on a one hour private water taxi around the lagoon and canals - Ask for Massimo to get the same driver.

We didn't do a Gondola trip - they were asking a lot of money for a short trip, and to be honest, the water taxi was better value. You can still soak up the atmosphere by walking about, anyway.

On the whole, the stay at the Abbazia was a good start to our holiday.
