this is a 3 star right beside the grand canal and the ferrovia water taxi stop.Near the bus stop and train station. hotel is spotless, staff are very charming and most helpful with recommendations of restaurants and travel. the courtyard is a lovely area to eat breakfast . we had a 3 night stay as a family of 4 in 2 rooms, both spacious and cleverly laid out.

Room Tip: ask for one facing the courtyard as they are quiet .

This was our fourth stay in this Hotel, and we love it! The location is great, close to the train station, and off the main thoroughfares, which is ideal in Venice. The staff are so charming - Mirkho welcomed us like very good old friends - and the rooms large, spacious, and lovely. The vaporetta stop is very close, so it is easy to get around, and there are lots of nearby restaurants, but the hotel is lovely and quiet at night. Breakfasts are good.

Room Tip: All rooms great!

We stayed for 2 nights during our 10 day Italy trip. Great located hotel right near the station and restaurants. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were good and spacious. The courtyard opposite the breakfast room was very lovely and was a nice touch to the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Abbazia.

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel that was a monastery. Rooms are comfortable and very clean with air conditioning. Friendly staff that was very helpful getting us transportation to the airport. Its located about 5 minutes from the train station but we did not hear any noise from trains. Breakfast included meats and cheese, fruit, pastry, coffee and juice. There is also a garden with nice chairs and tables for you to use.

We stayed here for three nights during our two-week trip to Italy. Following a week in Rome, Venice was a quiet sanctuary. Hotel Abbazia is located in a restored monastery, just by the train station, and access to the public water buses is just outside the door. Breakfast was plentiful. The staff was welcoming and friendly, and helped us navigate the narrow streets of the city with ease. Even though the air conditioning was acting up at times and the bed could be better, you have enough things to see and do in Venice to keep you occupied, and we didn't spend too much time in the hotel room.

You can (read we used) use vaporetto line 1 or 2 to get to and from St. Marks Square. Remember to validate your ticket after buying it from the counter or self-service machines.

Hotel Abbazie is a great hotel in Venice, it is in a great location (walking from train station, close to buss and car terminal, close to vaporetto stop, close to great bars and restaurants etc). The area is more 'authentic' and there are a lot of shops as you walk towards St Marks. You can also easily walk to the outer lagoon. The hotel is very quiet with a lovely garden and a more than adequate breakfast. Most of all the staff (especially Matteo) were excellent, friendly and helpful. The only issue for us was the lack of a lift (which is common in Venice). We found the rooms (we had two) more than adequate, especially for a reasonable price (for Venice). I have stayed in Venice before and this hotel, if you want quiet and comfortable has been the best I have stayed in.

Room Tip: If you struggle physically ask for a ground floor or first floor room.

Excellent location only 3 minutes walk from the railway station. Wonderful transformation from monastery to comfortable hotel. Easy access to the city by way of the water buses on the Grand Canal or by crossing bridge and meandering through the narrow streets towards St Mark's Square. Staff very friendly and gave spot on advice to recommend the types of restaurant we were looking for.

Room Tip: Go for deluxe room as I believe some of the others are quite small.
