Huge rooms, clean and excellent air circulation. Location was perfect! Just off the Main Street, so quiet yet a very short walk to everything! Staff was helpful, kind, spoke great English. Definitely stay here again.

This hotel is in a good all round location, easy 5 min walk from the Blue line Alilaguna (airport water bus ) Fondamenta Nuove stop and a similar distance to Rialto bridge, with St Mark's square about 15-20 mins walk. Not being on a canal has the benefit of being in a quiet area, as we weren't disturbed by external noise. The room has air conditioning, though it wasn't great with the room staying warm even if we left the shutters closed during the day. The room which was very small and small bathroom were both very clean and decorated in typical Venetian style, though we found that the bed was very hard which was uncomfortable, also double beds are actually 2 singles. Looking at the photos on TripAdvisor and fire exit plans near the lifts showed that the rooms sizes vary a lot and it seems we had one of the smaller rooms.

Breakfast was plentiful and a good variety was available, there were also some cooked items (scrambled & boiled eggs and cooked ham), like an extended continental.
Note that there is no room service (or eating permitted in the rooms), this was not an issue for us because we had no intention of spending long in there.

There are lots of good restaurants close by for eating in the evening if you don't want to eat in the adjoining restaurant. If you intend to eat somewhere popular, I'd advise either to book or arrive by 7:30pm, otherwise you might have a long wait. I also found that you'd have to have a huge appetite to get through than 2 courses, so why most places have 4 courses as standard I don't know. Unless you are a wine connoisseur, ask for the house wine as it is a lot cheaper and perfectly acceptable for the average diner.

Note that there is a small supermarket between the hotel and Fondamenta Nuove, so I'd suggest stopping on the way past to pick up some bottles water (1.5 Euros for 6 small bottles) and some fruit.

Looking at some of the previous reviews, it seems that I should have mentioned that we were on our 20th wedding anniversary (coincidently at breakfast on our last morning we meet another couple in the hotel also celebrating their 20th anniversary on the same day as us) because some people had room upgrades and/or drinks/gifts on their anniversary visit.

Finally and very importantly the staff were very helpful with our couple of queries including printing out our boarding passes for our return flight and holding our luggage until later in the afternoon whilst we explored Venice before our flight home.

Room Tip: Be aware some rooms are very small.

The staff were excellent and were happy to go the extra mile to meet our needs, making us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we entered the hotel, and throughout the whole stay. The rooms are all unique, tasteful and beautiful. Location was great, halfway between Rialto and St Marks. I would definitely stay here again.

We picked this hotel as it was one of the few in Venice with a pool. Despite the fact that there is nothing to mention it on their website or on arrival, there is an additional charge to use the pool. We were swimming in the pool on our first day when a staff member told us to get out as we had not paid 5 Euro per person to use it. We asked for a wine glass to be sent to our room and were then told we were not allowed to consume our own food or drinks in our hotel room - we had to use the mini bar only. We have stayed in many hotels all around the world and never heard of anything so absurd. This hotel has lost touch with the standard and expectations of hotels around the world.

Dear Client Aslee D,
Thank you for the review that was submitted concerning your stay at our Hotel Giorgione.
We are truly sorry that nothing went in the right direction and that it has not found a good aspect of our hotel. But please be informed that I personally was at the desk when my Colleagues at the Front Desk informed you once again, with kindness, about the regulation of the Poo Spa.
The written regulation is always given at the check-in and all our Customer may find it on the bed in the room. This is to avoid misunderstanding regarding its use. All Customer are infomed that some strict rules must be respected, in respect also for the other kind guests of the Hotel.
The cost of euro 5,00 per person includes the required hire of the bathrobe and flip-flop, for the whole stay.
We are really deeply sorry about this inconvenience, as we are working, day by day, with a lot of passion and enthusiasm because our only goal is the happiness of our guests.
We are looking forward to the pleasure of welcoming you again as soon as possible at the Giorgione Hotel, to prove that our Hotel is anything of what you have perceived.
With all my personal warmest regards,
Francesca Magliaretta

The Giorgione Hotel is located in the Cannaregio section, which is about a 15 minute walk to the Piazza San Marco. It is just a 5 minute easy walk from the Ca d'Oro boat stop. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. We were given a ground floor room off the courtyard, just feet away from the small swimming pool. The room had two king-size beds, a chaise lounge, several antique chests, AND two bathrooms! Obviously, it had been two separate rooms at one time, but we loved the surprise of the larger room that we weren't expecting. The only complaint was that the air-conditioning really didn't cool much, and it was quite hot during our stay. The buffet breakfast was very good, and the entire hotel gives off a 5 star quality, but is rated only 4 stars. I would definitely stay here again. Also, the neighborhood has several wonderful restaurants within a couple minutes walk, plus the hotel has a good restaurant of its own - with either inside or outside dining. We loved staying in the Cannaregio section as it was much less crowded and less noisy than the San Marco section. And the narrow streets and wonderful little bridges on the way to Piazza San Marco were truly a Venetian treat!

Room Tip: We had room 805 - ground floor, just off the courtyard. It is a very large room with two king-size...

nice location between st marks sq and the train station made it easy to get anywhere quickly with the vaporetto stop nearby.there were several good restaurants, a market, street vendors, stores of all types and a gondola station all is easy walking distance. the rooms were small but we didn't spend much time there but the a/c left a lot to be desired...the room was warm and never seemed to cool at all. breakfast was ok if different from what we are used to. the furnishings were nice, the bed comfortable and staff excellent and attentive.
