“Amazing, boutique hotel.”

Great staff, great location, great hotel, great rooms. Just come back from a few days in Venice and had a fabulous time at this small hotel. The staff were amazing with great recommendations for visits, for restaurants, for anything really. Near the Rialto bridge with a great view from the hotel terrace. Generous v&ts from the bar as the sun went down were exceptionally well received. A great place and hope to stay again soon.

The welcome and service throughout was exceptional, with genius warm and intelligent service, adapted to individual. This charming hotel is tastefully decorated with lots of attention to details, in keeping with its 1500 Palace’s origin.
The restaurant for breakfast is very cosy with partitions for added privacy. The outside terrace was just amazing, with fantastic view, a perfect way to sample the good selection and tasty breakfast. For added comfort our room was supplied with beautiful slippers, bathrobes and Etro toiletries.
The location is perfect for any visit. It would be impossible to fault it. Watching the Grand Canal and the tourists on the Rialto Bridge, tucked away in the calmness of the terrace with a bottle of cold Prosecco, is surely the best way to end an evening.

Room Tip: No all rooms have a good view, but as all have access to the terrace, this is not a real problem.

The hospitality by the entire staff is amazing. Many reviews will say the same thing. If you are only going to splurge one time on your trip for a hotel this should be it. Sitting on the balcony eating a full made to order breakfast or having an evening drink is amazing. Watching the boat and gondola traffic on the canal is awesome. I especially enjoyed seeing the working boats making deliveries in the mornings. This is an experience you can only get at Al Ponte Antico Hotel. UNIQUELY AWESOME!!!

Venice is a spectaular city with uneven hotel and restaurant experiences. Al Ponte Antico is a wonderful surpise, close to Rialto bridge (easy transportation options, restaurants and shops). The owner, Matteo, and his staff begin their rapport with you from the day you make your reservation. Upon arrival, you are known to them, greeted by name. Leaving the hotel on the first evening. The hotel has a large balcony on the Grand Canal, fits about 6 small tables, I never saw more than 5 or 6 people out there at once so it was never crowded. If you can't book a room fronting the canal (there are only 7 rooms), you still have 24 hour access to the balcony, they will offer you coffee or wine as you sit out there and watch the boats go by. Breakfast is excellent, you can sit in either of 2 plush booths, or at a few small tables either in the dining area or on the balcony. This is a small hotel, with large rooms, and great service. I will note that the beds were far too hard for us, but this seems to be the case throughout Italy, it's my only less than perfect grade. Keep in mind it is a very old, restored palazzo, so slightly quirky bathrooms (I'm 5'2" and my head almost hit the ceiling when standing in the tub/shower), but trust me, don't let these little quirks keep from you the warmest most lovely hotel in Venice. You will feel very much at home, but very pampered.

Room Tip: As I noted, a room with canal views is great but pricey. Everyone has the balcony to share. If you...

This hotel is just so fabulous that I’m not sure I want the rest of the world knowing all about it. It would be tempting to keep it all for myself. When we turned up at their private jetty we were greeted with genuine warmth and shown to our beautiful room where we flung open the floor to ceiling window to gaze out at one of the most romantic views in the world. I felt like Cary Grant. Breakfast was superb, the elegant décor was tasteful. If you are going to Venice then this is where you should stay.

Room Tip: I had 102 which had views directly over the Grand Canal

We spent a week with the Peruch family at Al Ponte Antico and had an amazing time. The staff is super friendly, greeted us by name, and prepared fabulous breakfasts. Our room was delightful, facing the Grand Canal. Shutters kept the room quiet at night.
We enjoyed evening cocktails on the balcony, soaking in the sights of Venice.
Cannot wait to return.

We chose Al Ponte Antico (the old bridge) hotel for our short St. Valentines trip with friends. We arrived at the hotel by water-taxi from the airport and were greeted warmly by the staff and manager/owner as we exited the motor launch directly into the ground floor of the hotel. Everything was taken care of and we were given a delightful tour of this converted palace by the Rialto bridge. Tastefully and comfortably upgraded. A lunch reservation had been made for us in advance - a great recommendation. We were always greeted by our first names (not difficult you might say with only 18 to remember, but changing every day ....?! From the breakfast/tea room one could look down on the vaporettos, gondolas and motor launches, incredibly avoiding each other as they plotted their courses under the Rialto bridge. High tide the next morning was a spectacle, with the water of the Grand Canal invading a good 20 meters on the opposite shore. Breakfast was copious and Matteo cooked whatever you could possibly want. Service was friendly, warm and courteous, although they were a little put off by our complaint of several small packs of rancid butter and the awful design of the bathroom toiletries - almost impossible to get the foil cover off the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel with wet hands. Apart from that the rooms were fairly large, well appointed in a traditional style although lacking a little in cleanliness and maintenance. I found a ring of the previous (lady) occupant on the carpet which would surely have been vacuumed up if such an apparatus would have been used. Also, the lever which should operate the plug on the bidet didn't work so we had to leave the water in on the last day.... Ugh.
Rooms are very quiet (the hotel is at the end of an alley - the other end goes onto the Canal).
Overall the service was so nice that these little problems didn't amount to much or impact our
stay, but a little more care and attention to detail wouldn't go amiss........ But we would go back. Matteo and his staff were so helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet, and prices range from a standard double at €180 per night up to a suite loo...
