“Nice Hotel but difficult to locate first time”
Reviewed 17 July 2014 via mobile

Our travel agent booked a water taxi from airport to hotel but he dropped us at Rialto Bridge instead of dropping at the back of hotel. We could not locate the hotel inspite of calling front desk many times. Ultimately we reached there in about one hour after pulling our luggage through uneven narrow lanes of Venice asking local people. We were given rooms at 1st floor in annexe which was located in narrow dark lane outside the main building. However the hotel staff helped to take luggage there. Room & toilet was neat & clean but location of annexe was terrible. Breakfast was well laid in the main hotel building every morning. We stayed for three nights. The hotel staff was very cooperative & helpful. Overall the hotel was nice except our bad experience on arrival.

Took a water taxi to the hotel from the airport which was very convenient but expensive. We were given a room in an annex and asked to see the room first after reading some negative reviews on Trip Advisor. The room was terrible, dank, almost feeling like a dungeon. The porter who accompanied us was very nice and we returned to the front desk. The male staff seemed somewhat annoyed but after much searching found another room in another building. We very much enjoyed this room, very quiet and possibly the only guests in the building. The hotel location is wonderful, the breakfast very good and complete and the outdoor seating area is charming. My recommendation is to check the room!

We stayed 1 night prior to a cruise then 2 nights post cruise. We found staff exceptional nothing was to much trouble for them. The first night we stayed in the annex and the other 2 nights in the hotel, and found both very comfortable. The reception staff organized another couple to share a water taxi to the cruise terminal to share costs. I left a pair of shoes in the room by mistake on the first night and when we returned 17 days later they had them there for me. I suggest a water taxi from the airport, so much easier. We found the hotel location very central and hotel reception gave us a map to find our way around. This hotel would be my first choice if I was to return to Venice. Thanks once again to all staff who made our stay so enjoyable

This hotel was in a great location, but a little hard to find. We stayed 2 nights and the staff was fantastic. The hotel was clean and quite attractive. No one was ever too busy to help out with directions or restaurant recommendations. Great visit!

We stayed in June for 2 nights. After reading reviews regarding the annexe, we deliberately asked our travel agent to request a room in the main hotel, not the annexe. But despite booking more than 6 months before, when we arrived we were put in the dreaded annexe!! Pretty disappointed about this. No lift, so the poor porter had to lug our suitcases upstairs. The smallest hotel room I've ever seen - and we felt like naughty children exiled to the annexe! Didn't see or hear anyone else so wondered whether we were the only ones there? Otherwise clean and reasonably comfortable. Good location. Staff were helpful, and great buffet breakfast.

Room Tip: Try requesting to stay in main hotel, but not guaranteed!! Suggest taking water taxi from port or ai...

Like a challenge, like trying to find the hotel you booked. Then this hotel is for you. We arrived by water bus at the Rialto station as told by hotel who told us it was just a short walk to the property. Oh yea, it took a kind elderly porter to take our heavy bags on a cart through a maze of twist and turns and over a few small bridges 15 minutes to get to our hotel. We could not have made it without his help. There is a simpler way to get to the hotel, by water taxi from the airport which takes you to the hotel's back door, but only if you're willing for fork over the 109 eruro cost. The staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful, the buffet breakfast good. Our room, however, was in the annex across from the main hotel. It was small, but liveable, but the bed and pillows were hard, hard and we dubbed out room "Bedrock" after the Flinstone movies. The hotel was close to most of two main attractions but you might chose to leave bread crumbs on your way out so that you can find your way back. Would we return: No.

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel which is bang in the middle of Venice's main 2 attractions - St Marks Square & the Rialto Bridge. The staff were very friendly, and helpful. We were upgraded to a larger room with whirlpool bath upon arrival, which was totally unexpected & very much appreciated, so our room was big (for an Italian hotel). The breakfast was plentiful with a good choice of hot, cold meats & cheese etc. & a carb & sugar fest. The hotel also has a really nice terrace area where we sat & ordered a reasonably priced bottle of wine & sat & watched the world go by.
There is also a Co-Op a few meters away, for all your needs, plus a very nice cafe opposite & posh restaurant - which was well recommended in Trip Advisor - but we didn't eat there.
