“Good location ”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2014 via mobile

We stayed for two nights. It was difficult to find at first but Venice is full of winding streets. We had a family room which was big enough for us all. We did not have a view other than the fire escape and the large wooden shutters meant we had little daylight. We could have tried to open them but there was nothing to see if we did. It is a good location. We took the water bus from the airport and it took a long time; and then there was a walk from San Marco. It is more expensive but we would recommend the water taxis which take half the time and drop you at the hotel. Breakfast was nice and the coffee was particularly good.

We were put up here due to a double booking by the sister hotel Ca' Pisani. We got a room upgrade which was sensational. Large room with great double bed, bathroom with 'wet-room' feel, rain shower, large 2 person jacuzzi, plenty of storgae for clothes etc. We were met with a bottle of wine on ice in our room. This hotel is roughly a 6-7 minute walk from St Mark's square. We got a vaporetti boat to St Marks from the train station with our bags. The breakfast was more than expected, great coffee and large selection. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant. You are right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of central Vencie here but once you cross the doors of the hotel you are immediately put at ease with the relaxing atmosphere. The hotal has free wifi which was fast. This hotel is expensive - ~E340 for 2 nights, but if you can afford it then it is well worth it.

Nice hotel, bed was okay but not great. After we figured out where it was, the location was great!

Breakfast was average, cold selection better than hot.

No real special touches... Not even 'how was your stay' when we checked out.

The best experience for a long time. Excellent location, superb staff, superb staff, amazing gym, nice terrace and what else. This hotel is all about hospitality in its true meaning. Great price quality ratio not only in rooms but also in the restaurant and bar. Don't waste your time looking for other hotels - this is it! Ps. They have another one as good as this on the other side of the street in the end of the alley.

We booked this hotel through Costco travel. The checkin process was fast. Included bell hop service. Elevators are a right squeeze especially with the large bell boy in the elevator with us.

The concierge was helpful, giving us a map and recommendations for gondola service.

Daily buffet breakfast was nice. The staff was excellent here and the food was good.

Our stay included lunch at La Caravella, their resident restaurant. Staff was awesome and food was delicious.

Room is nice, but doesn't seem to have been updated since the 80s. Our mattress was 2 twins pushed together. I had a hard time sleeping because the matresses were firm.

Costco travel arranged a private water taxi. The hotel has easy access to the canal from the back.

We just spent 3 nights at Hotel Saturnia, in Venice - it was an excellent choice.
We booked directly through the hotel's website, as there was a special promotion for direct bookings, so that the rate ended up being much cheaper than any other rate on the internet for the same location and dates. Be sure to check it out before you book with the various hotels.com, bookings.com and so on.
The hotel is very conveniently located, at 5-minute walk from St. Mark's Square and not even 2-minute walk from La Fenice. The street is extremely easy to find, as it is the one with famous luxury brands (Bulgari, Hermes, Gucci, Chanel, LV and so on) - in the intricate labyrinth that Venice is, being able to find your street easily is a big advantage.
Our room (n.27) was big. It was a little old, but what else can you expect in a building in the center of Venice? It was actually charming. The view was on the restaurant's court.
The staff was charming, helpful and very professional, with special compliments to the breakfast's staff. It's the first time in our life (and we traveled quite a bit around the planet) that we didn't need to ask for a second round of cappuccini, because the waiter knew already what we wanted, and made sure to bring them over exactly at the moment when we fished our first round. Exceptional.

Room Tip: Just check on the hotel's own website for any special promotion, before you book with another we...

We have stayed in several other hotels on previous visits to Venice, but May, 2014 was our first stay at the lovely Saturnia. Our antique-filled room was on a corner with panoramic views in all directions, as well as a charming balcony, from which to view Piazza San Marco 200 meters away. The Serandrei family are special. From all our first inquiries, until our check-out, they gave us personal attention. And La Caravella restaurant was excellent -- wonderful cuisine and beautiful ambiance. We are now recommending this lovely to hotel to others and will only stay here in future visits to Venice.

Room Tip: Corner rooms are very bright with lovely views over the rooftops.
