“Fantastic Location and view”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

For a first time visit to Venice you couldn't find a better location. The Hotel is just opposite one of the main boat stops making it very easy to find when you are tired from a long flight. It is really close to St Marks Square, the absolute centre of town. We stayed on the fourth floor which had magnificent views day and night. There were a lot of steps and no lift making it unsuitable for any one with mobility issues but for those fit enough it's worth it. Our room accommodated a family of four and was compact but tastefully furnished. The double glazed windows blocked the noise when you didn't want it but you could open up the windows for fresh air and to soak up the sunshine and atmosphere when you wanted. European style breakfast with many choices and of good quality. Great Wi-Fi and friendly and accommodating staff.
We would have no hesitations in staying here again and highly recommending it to others.

Room Tip: Higher floors for great views.

We enjoyed our stay here. Great location and great staff. Check in was a breeze and the staff help with my girlfriend HEAVY bag getting it up the stairs. I was glad that I book this place just because of the Heavy bag she packed. Trying to get it anywhere else would have been a nightmare with all the bridges and cobble stone streets. And having the hotel right by the main boat stop from the airport was a plus.
Love the location. From our room we could look down and watch all the action going on both on the canal and on the walkway. Great Views of everything.
Easy to walk to anything in Venice's from the hotel. Don't rely on Maps to get you around. They are not right. But even when we did get lost all we had to do was ask how to get back to St. Marks Square and we would find our way back soon or later. We had a great time getting away from the tourist areas and just exploring and getting lost and finding exciting new things that other tourist would not find.

This is the second time we've stayed at Pensione Wildner and we will return again! We travelled with our 14 year old daughter so we had a triple room which is very spacious and opulently decorated in true Venetian style. The service is very friendly - the downside is that there is no elevator, but our bags were carried up for us. The location is extremely convenient to the vaporetto stop and very close to Piazza San Marco with a beautiful view of the Canal. You wake up in the morning to the sounds and smells of Venice!

This hotel is very easy to find and in a great location. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Restaurant at hotel gives a discount to hotel guests which is nice. We didn't eat there but actually heard from other restaurants that their food is quite good. Will stay here again.

Room Tip: There is no elevator here so if you can't walk upstairs easily ask for a lower floor.

Fantastic location and for a very reasonable price I got a junior suite with the view of Canal Grande. The only inconveniences are that there is no elevator and the bathroom needs upgrading. Staff is very nice and helpful. The restaurant was so good we had several meal there. I suggest to try the "granseola" which is a local crab.

We were picking up a cruise ship in Venice and decided to spend a few days in Venice prior to boarding. My husband had stayed here on business in the past but this was my first time and having read the reviews was a little doubtful as to whether I would like it. We had a room overlooking the lagoon on the first floor, and no there isn't a lift in the building and this is due to the layout as there is know where to fit one, so I could see this could be a problem if you were on the upper floors. Our bags were brought to our room for us. The room was typically Venetian, silk walls, an ornate bed which was very comfortable, and comfy chairs and of course the lovely view. It was a very convenient position just a few yards from the number 2 Vaporetto, St Marks square and the Bridge of Sighs. Breakfast was excellent on our first day with plenty of fresh fruit, croissants, meat & cheese and fresh coffee, but our second day the breakfast wasn't so good as the fruit was tinned, there was only chocolate croissants and the coffee wasn't so good and the ham & cheese was still of good standard. Would I stay again - yes I would as the breakfasts were substantial although varying in quality and the welcome we received, the comfort of the accommodation and the convenient situation far outweighed this little niggle.

We have stayed at the Hotel Wildner the week before Christmas every other year for more than a decade now. The hotel is charming, the rooms cosy and comfortable and the lagoon view is just wonderful. It is a small hotel on four floors and there is no lift. Breakfast is included in the price and is perfectly adequate (though they now no longer offer fresh fruit). The coffee on offer is pretty dire but you can order proper coffee. I always recommend this place - it is perfect for a winter visit though it might be noisier in the summer months.

Room Tip: Lagoon view rooms are best.
