The short alley that brings you to the hotel door is a very fin eone, as you can see in the hotel´s picture. palm trees are to be found next to the hotel. A little, romantic and quiet hotel, though very central. The rooms are small, but clean and the staff is English speaking and very helpful, indeed.
They did all they could to assist us in locating our lost luggage.

Room Tip: No street noise

First, you have to realize that accommodations in Venice are quite expensive. What you can get for your money here is far less than what you can get in other Italian cities. However, we were quite pleased with Hotel Rossi...very close to train station, yet set back from the main walking path. The rooms were spacious and clean and the breakfast was quite good. The staff was very friendly and we would definitely stay here again.

The positive about this hotel is the proximity to the train station. We didn't have to drag our suitcase very far through the streets. We also appreciated the English speaking front desk attendants.

We may have felt more positive if we had only paid a 1 star price. Yes, hotels are expensive in Venice, but we couldn't help feeling somewhat cheated. It was certainly spartan, which you expect at this rating, but the bathroom door was broken and didn't close and the shower pan kept filling up with water, so you had to do the on/off, soap up, on/off routine to avoid flooding the bathroom. The breakfast of two somewhat stale buns and jam was disappointing and the coffee almost undrinkable. The wifi was only accessible in the front entrance area. This is also the smoking area and you have to put up with clouds of smoke in order to use your computer. Being non smokers, we found this unbearable. The left luggage area sounds convenient, but was totally insecure, being just an open area next to the stairs and open to all guests and visitors. We did not leave our bag there, especially since it contained such valuables as a computer.

If none of this bothers you, this may be the hotel for you.

The staff are very helpful and friendly to English speaking customers which is not common in other towns. The location is excellent and quiet. The accommodations are Spartan but all you need is a clean place to sleep and clean up. You should be out exploring Venice all day. Would go back tomorrow if possible, maybe in the future. Breakfast in Italy is coffee and a roll so people expecting more are going to be disappointed everywhere.

We only needed a room for 1 night in Venice, so we were looking for a very basic place. Frankly, I think Hotel Rossi turned out better than I expected. The location was excellent for us, very near to the train station (i.e. no hauling luggage over bridges).

Upon making a reservation, I noted that my wife was pregnant and asked if they could make any accommodations to make her life easier. At check-in, they informed us that they upgraded us to a room on a lower floor with a private bathroom.

The room itself was fairly basic. Everything was clean and in working order. We were happy with it. There is no TV in the room and the internet access only really works in the lobby, so make sure to take that into consideration.

The breakfast is bread and jam/honey. I didn't expect anything more, but it was enough to keep us moving for the morning.

Finally, they have a left luggage area which was fantastic for us.

I'd probably stay here again for a short trip. The value is fantastic in my opinion.
