Rossi Hotel is 5 minutes walk from the Santa Lucia Train Station, very good location. We stayed at this hotel only for one night before going onto our Cruise and i found the hotel quite good. Its in a quiet place, just off the main busy street, room are basic but clean. we had a triple room and the 3rd bed was a good one for an adult (not small kids thing).
Strange thing was that the balcony in the room had no door/exit, so we had to jump over the window table to get to balcony.
Breakfast was very poor, actually the poorest i have ever seen, but may be that is normal for Venice low star hotels: bread, butter and jam - thats all.
Staff was very helpful, they called the porter service company for us (BTW, the best option if you need to drag your luggage to the station or to People Mover, which is 15 min walk and over bridge with steps. Cost 5 EURO per bag, but you can negotiate further)
I will advise the hotel for the short stay for sure and will stay there myself again if not for more than 2-3 nights. Hotel prices in Venice are 'biting' and getting something at the rate of 80-100 Euro per night is a challenge due to the popularity of that city.
We booked Hotel Rossi for a two night stay and they confirmed immediately, telling us we will be staying not in the hotel but an apartment a short walk from the hotel.
Staff was helpful and friendly.
The apartment has two newly renovated rooms, a bathroom, kettle, small fridge, A/C, WiFi and is very close to the vaporetto lines on Canale Grande.
We were very happy with our stay in this beautiful city.
Set in the northern quarter near to the Rail Station I found the location perfect for breakfast then hopping onto the water buses. (Make sure you buy a weekly ticket if you intend to use often). Good bars and restaurants nearby. Hotel staff very polite with good English. Rooms basic but clean. Set in quiet street just off bustling thoroughfare with all kinds of shops conveniently nearby
The hotel is well located near the canal grande and the station, it is quiet, the staff is riendly, we had a double room with two extra beds, so ist was quite full. The breakfast room is far too small, so we had to wat, which was boring, besides the wifi is functioning only at the reception. We had great days in venice
