We stayed 4 nights at Albergo San Samuele in Venice, January 2014. Convenient location in San Marco, clean rooms and common areas, and Judith (owner) and Lucia were very helpful. Lucia spent at least 20 minutes telling us about the surrounding areas, giving advice, and marking a map for us. Thank you!

The facilities are adequate, but we did have to deal with some minor problems - leaky shower door, room door didn't latch correctly, low water pressure in sink.

WiFi worked well, and it was nice to have 2 small common areas in the hotel to relax, read, and eat outside of our room.

Dear Dane,

thank you so much for this note; we are happy to read that you had a great time here at the Hotel San Samuele, despite a few little things that did not work properly.
We've now fixed the shower, no more leaking and managed to fix the door which now closes perfectly.
Thank you for letting us know, that helped a lot.
We've been delighted to have you here, and hope to see you soon again!

Kind regards

I had a fantastic time here. I am on an extended trip, so I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money on a room, which is easy to do in Venice. The location of the San Samuele is fantastic. It's right in the heart of the San Marco district and exceedingly close to the Galerie dell'Accademia. The San Samuele is not fancy, by any means, but it has exactly what I needed. A comfortable bed, a nice bathroom and really good, free wifi. Plus the staff, Judith and Lucia, were so wonderful. Judith took at least 15-20 minutes to tell me about suggestions on where to visit, where to eat, when I checked in. It was the personalized attention that made this stay so worthwhile.

This is a great place to stay its in a great location lots of good places to eat nearby , brilliant for the boat bus stops. The staff are amazing. On my recent trip the staff gave such helpful advice even lent us some wellyboots because of the high water phenomenon. When I became ill Judith the owner took me to a English speaking doctor this was beyond the call of duty and I cannot say how grateful I am for her help. The free wii fii was a terrific bonus and the lovely coffee in the reception in the morning was most welcome.
I loved this hotel and venice will definitely be back.

Dear Madam,

it's us who thank you for this beautiful note you left, we appreciate it so much.
The doctor thing was the minimum we could do, we understand how difficult and frustrating it might be being ill in a foreign country and not being able to explain properly, so having an English speaking doctor nearby is just a “terrific bonus”!!
This is our job, not just the mere room renting thing, we love making people happy, and we work hard every day to do so!

Thank you again, hope to see you back soon.

It's worth getting direction before you come, it's a bit confusing using map here to find this B&B.

We were greeted with smile and welcoming with the lady at the reception. She is very helpful with showing us the attractions around and highlight the main road on the map. We were staying at #10 with own bathroom and nearer to ground floor. Room is big enough and good powerful hair dryer if you wash your hair often that's a plus point for me. As we are right under the bathroom, so you can hear flashing toilet once in awhile.

Shame the room is quite cold in the evening as the weather is 4 Degree Celcius outside, even with 2 radiator. There is extra blanket (thankfully!!) So we have to tuck in the bed to get ourselves warm.

Wifi is not working in our room for the first 4 nights, so have to go to the reception to get the signal. But fixed the last night we were staying.

Will recommend if you are staying in Venice, good location and everything you need here.

Room Tip: Worth paying a bit more to have your own bathroom for convenience ;-)

This B&B is about 5 min walk from the nearest water boat station, which takes 15 mins to reach from the bus station. One can easily walk to the tourist spots. There are a lot of gondola services and restaurants nearby, but it is not crowded or noisy around the hotel. The room are beautifully done - the wooden ceiling, a beautiful chandelier and the colourful tiles in the bathroom. There was a table fan to beat the summers (July), but it wasn’t enough. The staff was very helpful, especially Judith. Would highly recommend this place.
