We stayed at Hotel al Piave for 2 nights and found the hotel to be really comfortable, clean and the staff very welcoming. It was only about 3 mins walk from St Marks Basilica and close to the San Zaccario waterbus stop. The room was very quiet with good shower. Breakfast was excellent and really set you up for a day's sightseeing. Lots of good value restaurants close by. We had lunch just round the corner in a really good value restaurant. Definately a good value hotel for a short stay in Venice.

This is a very nice hotel. The staff is very friendly, it is extremely clean and beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is good with a buffet including bread, croissants, cereal and fruit salad (I prefer fresh fruit myself but it is a detail). My husband is vegetarian and my son allergic to dairy products but there was plenty of choice (scrambled eggs, ham, cake, etc). It is centrally located yet it is quiet and we all slept very well. We also bought tickets at the reception for concerts and had access to free wifi in the room. From the hotel we were able to explore Castello district which is beautiful and less crowded than San Marco which is also very close. The price is relatively high but seems appropriate for Venice.

It's very basic, but quite central to great alleyway shopping. Surrounded by good restaurants as well. But it's VERY basic so if you're only looking for somewhere to sleep, it's good. But the rooms are quite small, quite cold at night without the ability to control the temperature in your room (use the extra blanket if you're staying around or before April), no mini bar, walls are quite thin, but super clean with a comfy bed. Breakfast which is included was average, but service was good.

My wife and granddaughter have just spent a few days visiting the sights of Venice whilst taking in many museums and tourist attractions that time permitted staying in the Hotel al Piave where the service was friendly and helpful. The comfortable studio apartment was cleaned every day and was well equipped.Buffet Breakfasts were satisfying. This family run hotel helped to make they stay, memorable.

Room Tip: Try for a studio apartment

We are staying at the Hotel Al Piave right now, and loving every minute of it. The staff is very helpful. Breakfast this morning was good - eggs, breads, cheese, and meats. Our room is very nice! We are in room 313 - across a little alley from the hotel lobby. There is an elevator, and our room is a very nice size, with a very nice bathroom. The hotel is within walking distance to everywhere, and a short walk from the S. Zaccaria vaporetto stop. There is a video on YouTube showing you exactly how to get here, which helped us tremendously in finding the hotel. I highly recommend, and would definitely recommend to a friend.

Goog hotel for its price.

My bad experience was that I had 2 double rooms booked but they gave me one double and one twin room and as a result me and my boyfriend had to sleep on two double beds.

The receptionist was absolutely rude.

Good thing was that the breakfast was really nice with many different choices.

Superb location, tucked on a neat little via yet close walk to everything. The hosts were terrific and breakfast was the best during our entire stay in Europe. Rooms are small but very clean. There is no elevator, but it was not a problem. We stayed with our 4 teenage children and everyone agreed that this little hotel was just perfect.

One tip though, they will suggest the Giardinato ristorante which is about one block away. The food was OK but it is terribly overpriced. Venice is expensive but you can do better by venturing a bit further. Avoid anything that says "ristorante" and stick with on osteria or trattoria.
