“Excellent hotel and location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2012

My wife and I recently spent one night at Hotel Bucintoro. The location is perfect. It is close enough to St. Marks Square (10 minute walk), but not so close that you are impacted by the large crowds associated with the square. It is on the Arsenale vaporetto stop, making it easy to get around. The hotel is small, boutique type, with a friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in room 304, and were quite happy. This is a corner room, one set of windows looks directly onto the Grand canal, the other towards St. Marks. Reasonably spacious by Venetian standards. Excellent mattress and pillows (for those with back issues). Breakfast was Continental and excellent. The hotel is not inexpensive -nothing is cheap in Venice. However, I believe it is appropriately priced for the quality and location. My wife and I were very satisfied and would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Recommend room 304 or equivalent corner room.

Stayed here for four nights in July 2012. Hotel was quiet, cool and comfortable, however we were given room 102 which was so small we had to take turns dressing etc !!. There is no bar, that photo is of the breakfast room which has a display of bottles, but when we asked about a drink we were told "no the bar is closed". Don't ask staff about somewhere to eat, they sent us to a usless place which turned out to be an expensive rip off, just around the corner.Good locatioa and very clean.

We enjoyed our three night stay at Hotel Bucintoro. It was quiet and the breakfast was very nice. It has a great view of the canal. The only complaint was the room was a little too warm and never cooled down enough until morning.

Room Tip: Get a water taxi to avoid all the steps with your luggage.

After 13+ hours of travel from San Diego, CA...nothing was better than staying at the suite at Hotel Bucintoro. Rooms were built like you were staying on a boat...Open the windows and we got the breezes from and views from the ocean, with St. Marks Square in the background and within walking distance. The hotel offered a free water taxi to Murano, which we witnessed a generation of family making glass creations. Right outside the door from hotel, homemade gelato....The hotel included free breakfast, great for when we wanted a quick start to get out and sitesee. We were there two days and felt the beauty of Venice starting from Hotel Bucintoro.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 304...exposure all around to ocean and views.

We recently spent 3 days in an apartment in Venice and our last evening here.
We are so pleased we did. The location was superb, the room comfortable and all the staff we met very helpful and friendly.
When we return to Venice (when it is not as hot!) this will be our first port of call.

This hotel was very nice. Location was great - just far enough away to avoid noisy crowds yet close enough to walk to all the big sites. Rooms have great views of the Grand Canal. Breakfast was good, staff was helpful. If you take a water taxi to the hotel you avoid walking over a bridge. If you take the water bus, be prepared to carry your bags up and down a bridge (about 50 steps each way). Would stay here again.

1st holiday for 13 years without kids! Spent 3 nights here - Couldn't have asked for a better location near enough to the main sights but far enough away for some tranquillity; the view from our room was magnificent; room very comfortable; staff very friendly and attentive. Cruise in from the airport on the Alilaguna "blue line" to the Arsenale then a 2 minute walk - Brilliant!
