Stayed for three nights in December. Hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful and very polite. Helped with your bags to the room and let us leave our bags with them during the day before our evening flight. Room was suberb perfectly adequate size wise. Comfortable bed and little amenities included. Spotlessly clean and house keeping staff were also friendly (not something you normally find!). Breakfast was nice with a decent selection for a continental and staff again were lovely. Great views from room window and ideally located. Would definitely stay here again as such a lovely hotel and fantastic staff!

My boyfriend and I stayed here to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. We could not have asked for a more convenient location, beautiful view, or excellent staff. All the staff was so friendly and kind. We arrived early and they let us check in early, or departure flight for our next destination left late at night so they also held on to our luggage for us in a secure locked room. The food they provided for breakfast was excellent!!!! They had a large variety and everything was good. If I ever return to Venice I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here from a groupon deal upgrade to 4 star hotels through gate 1 travel on a 11 day rail tour through Italy. Arrived in the afternoon, just a short walk from San Marcos square or 150 meters from the arsenale vaparetto stop, hotel was clean, rooms reminiscent of the doge palace with wood paneling lining the walls, staff courteous and friendly, breakfast room and breakfast felt like a B and B. Our toilet began leaking the 2nd night we were here and was fixed promptly by the time we returned in the afternoon. Beautiful views of Venice, would def come back!

Stayed at this lovely hotel for two nights in April 2013. We had a standard room but were on the corner, so had an absolutely wonderful view of the Grand Canal. We were able to sit on the bed and gaze out, enjoying a bottle of prosecco. We kept the window open at night as the sounds and smells (nothing bad!) of Venice were lovely to fall asleep to.

Walk out of the hotel and you're on the Grand Canal. Everything you could want to see is just a few minutes walk away - the hotel is one bridge - and perhaps just a hundred yards - from where things get manic. But this is perfect - it's right there, but it's also MUCH quieter. Turn away from the centre of Venice and within a couple of minutes you're the only tourist in a 'local' area, which is equally lovely to see.

Breakfast was really good - a wide selection. Free-to-use umbrellas were a godsend for us! This was a romantic weekend that was made all the more romantic by this lovely hotel. I can't recommend it enough.

Many booking sites were really expensive but I managed to get a great deal through Olotels.com - hope that helps.

Room Tip: Get a corner room!

We stayed here for 2 nights in early December 2013 and absolutely loved it. We were expecting to pay a lot for the hotel as we know Venice is expensive but we managed to get our room for £255 for the 2 nights including breakfast. We were on the fourth floor overlooking the water and sunrise/sunset was an amazing view. Room was quite small but plenty big enough for the 2 nights we stayed. The en-suite was beautifully tiled in marble and the shower was powerful. The staff were helpful and the buffet breakfast had plenty of choice. The hotel is a short walk from the Arsenale stop and most of the bridges along the water have ramps for easy access with suitcases! I would definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to return to Venice.

Room Tip: All rooms have a view over the water

We stayed at the Bucintoro for 3 nights at the end of November as a weekend break for my partner's birthday. Before we travelled, I was in regular contact with them to ensure my partner's dietary requirements were catered for (Coeliacs disease) and to arrange a bottle of prosecco to be on ice in our room for his birthday and they did not fail! As soon as we walked into this small hotel, the only word we could use was "Wow!". Extremely friendly, accommodating and very helpful staff. The room was immaculate, very well equipped and beautifully presented. Tea and coffee making facilities were in the room, which was a bit of a novelty as previous European breaks we have been on to Paris & Barcelona did not! Breakfast was continental buffet and came in abundance! Speciality bread and muesli was provided for my partner and nothing was too much trouble for the lady (apologies we didnt get her name) who prepared, presented and catered for us a breakfast.
Located overlooking the lagoon and just a few minutes walk away from the hustle and bustle of the main sights, it is close to the public transport (around a 2 minute walk) and approx 10 minute walk away from St Mark's Square.
We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Venice.
As a side note, and nothing at all to do with the hotel, anyone needing to follow a gluten free diet (coeliacs) may struggle to find somewhere to eat! We had a tough time and ended up buying biscuits from the local shop and sourcing the only McDonalds in the city for the chips! We found one restaurant which advertised GF pasta but the basic accompaniments (bolognese) was not gluten free and did not find anywhere that had gluten free pizza.
