Hotel Campiello was our refuge from the crowds while we visited Venice. The staff was friendly and courteous. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included as was free Wi-Fi. Just a short walk to the boat docks at San Marco/San Zaccaria. I found this gem through Rick Steves' Venice travel guide and would highly recommend this family-run hotel.

We recently enjoyed a family stay at this hotel. We had comfortable adjoining room that were clean and well air-conditioned - a must in Venice in Summer. Breakfast was more than adequate and the staff went out of their way to make sure our children were looked after with a delicious hot chocolate even morning. The front desk staff were very helpful when we had questions about dinning out and local attractions. The standout is off course a brilliant location close to major attractions and transport. We would definitely stay here again.

Significantly overated on Tipadvisor! It should be much lower. Unless the only thing you care about is location (which is very confortable) chose something else. Brekfast Room is horrible with neon lights and very unproficient personell. Buffet is poor.
Reception is ok and the lady at the front desk is very kind in advising you on tuoristic tips. But that is not enough. I spent two nights and I was very happy to leave.

On our second trip to Venice (this time w/o kids) we stayed at this little hotel. It is conveniently situated 20 meters from the Canal and a Vaporetto stop, a 10 minute walk to the Piazza San Marco and around a couple of corners from some great restaurants. The room was small but cute and quiet, and had a very small bathroom with shower. It had a view of a small courtyard and stairs (out the window) to its own rooftop patio with table and chairs.

The complication on this trip was that Lufthanza decided to send my bag to Dubai. I needed to stay in touch with the lost baggage office at the airport which called periodically to say that they hadn't found the bag, that they had found it but it was in Duibai, etc. Marco, the concierge was very helpful. He loaned me a wall adapter so I could charge my cell phone (mine was in the suitcase) and relayed messages to and from the baggage office. I would highly recommend this hotel not only for its location and room (which were everything we asked for and expected) but for the extraordinarily helpful front desk staff.

My wife and I stayed in room 104 (a double) and my wife's sister stayed in 103 (a single) for five night. Our rooms were clean and the bathrooms were modern and in complete working order. The showers did not overflow and there was always hot water available. We took advantage of the hotel breakfast service. We found the breakfast staff to be excellent, tentative to our needs and requests. The food was perfect to start the day running exploring Venice. The location of the hotel can not be any better. What others have written about the excellent location is very true, so I will not repeat. The only complaint is that the safe in room 104 did not work. I informed the staff and they were honest that it would not be correct during my stay. If I did not have access to the safe in room 103, I would have been every unhappy. The front desk did offer the use of their safe to store my valuables. My wife, my sister-law and I recommend the Hotel Campiello.

Although this hotel has a really great location, I can't recommend it. Nothing has been updated since the 1970s. It was clean so no complaints there but they had lights that no longer worked and really old bathroom. The staff is hit or miss. Some are nice, others are not so friendly. The breakfast is included and was pretty good although the staff was not very nice at all.

Nice room; polite, helpful staff, great location. Highly recommend this hotel. We stayed three nights, the hotel is close to the water taxi stop and St.Mark's Square; good bath facilities; staff were helpful in recommending things to do and scheduling reswervations.
