We made our reservation for a double room and were confirmed for a double "French bed". When we got there it turns out the French bed was a very small room and quite cramped. The next day we asked the manager about the possibility of a mistake and he explained that small rooms are common in Venice as they don't have a lot of space in the city. He could see our dismay and very kindly offered to upgrade us to a larger double that someone had cancelled (at no extra charge!). Well, that room was gorgeous and spacious so if you are going there and comfort is important be sure to spend the extra $ and get the deluxe room. The hotel has a wonderful garden area and also is centrally located so we walked most everywhere. The management was very accomodating and we were really pleased with our stay there and would definitely go back. Venice is truly beautiful!

Room Tip: Ask about size of room before booking

We stayed at Casa Verardo for 2 nights in July with 3 adults, this hotel was lovely a little bit hard to find the first time but then easy to get to everywhere in Venice! Close to St Marks square and not far from the Rialto bridge. The room was lovely, breakfast was fantastic. If you want to go to Murano Island the hotel has a agreement with Marco Polo Glassware in Murano, it's a great trip they pick you up at the hotel and take you on a private taxi to Murano, they do a glass blowing show and then take you to the gallery, there is no pressure to buy but they have lovely glass designs. Then they take you back to Venice very good morning out! We happened to be there for a festival with fireworks fantastic! Hotel staff where very helpful and lovely, would definately be back! Great hotel!

Casa Verardo is in a great location being only a 5 minute walk from St Marks Square.
It is very clean and very nicely laid out.
We had the Room with the Terrace and we were more than happy with everything, even the chairs on the terrace!!! lol
Breakfast is the usual continental fare, you have the option of eating either inside or on the terrace. The croissants are lovely.
Fresh towels and toiletries are replenished every day.
Constant hot water.
We liked the bar prices as well because they were more than reasonable if you compare them to some prices that others charge in Venice!
All of the staff that we encountered were very friendly and more than helpful. All spoke English as well which made life easier.

Whether the price of 204 euros per night is good value for money is I guess a matter of opinion, basically you are paying for the location, and if you don't mind paying that amount then you should enjoy all that Casa Verardo has to offer.

Top hotel in a fabulous location!

Room Tip: Pay extra and get the room with terrace.

We have just returned from a 4 nights stay at this hotel. We booked it in February as it was an anniversary trip and therefore paid top price, which now seems very expensive as prices quoted for the rest of the year are far less than we paid. We booked early so we could book the room with a private terrace. The room was very small so we expected the terrace to be an extension of the room. We were very disappointed with the furnishings on the terrace. The seats were so low that we were unable to sit on them as well as being very uncomfortable. After putting up with them for a couple of days we asked for better seating to be provided. Reception said they would have to phone the owners which they did and eventually agreed to supply 2 chairs. We then went out assuming the chairs would have been changed by the time we returned. They had provided more chairs but they were plastic chairs which were very dirty and looked as if they had come from a rubbish dump. We complained again and said that the replacement chairs were unacceptable. Reception again rang the lady owner whilst my husband was there. He was upset at the response he heard i.e. the chairs were SUN BLEACHED and any way no one else had complained. We must thank the manager at this point as he took it upon himself to provide us with 2 comfortable chairs.
I feel this hotel is overpriced and overall we would not recommend this hotel.

Dear Guest,
thsnk you for your feedback.

We have to say that, actually this is really the first time a guest complains about the terrace's furniture.

We can understand that You may not like the furniture, but we think they are perfectly in line with Hotel Casa Verardo.

Anyway, obviously, after a contact with the Owner, we made our best to satisfy your special request to move our furniture from a different zone of the Hotel to your private terrace.

Kind regards

The Owner

little hard to find without a map.

great location for main Venice attractions and Vaporetto stops. friendly service. clean room, comfortable mattress, and above average European breakfast. also centrally located for selection of restaurants. (most of which, unfortunately are expensive in Venice for what you get)

Room Tip: jump when special price, even paying in advance.
