This proved to be an unexpected delight. Arrived at Marco Polo Airport with no confirmed hotel and luckily managed to snag a room at Casa Verardo. Although only a couple of minutes from bustling San Marco, and close to the Riva, it is in a serene situation. The hotel has been beautifully renovated. The staff, particularly on the front desk, is especially helpful. Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated in the Venetian style. The buffet breakfast is excellent. Have been to Venice at least a dozen times; Casa Verardo is now my first choice for accommodation.

Stayed here for one night on our Italy trip.

Very nice renaissance hotel that captures the classic feel of Venice. Room even has a chandelier hanging from the ceiling and furniture felt very antique (maybe it was). Good size room and nice bathroom.

Basic breakfast buffet but croissant and cappuccino were delicious. It was very enjoyable to sit in the morning on the quaint terrace outside while sipping cappuccino :)

Hotel is very conveniently located, just a 3 -5 minute walk from San Zaccaria vaporretto station and about 5 - 10 minute to San Marco square. It's good that location is central but in a quiet street, just a a minute off all the hustle and bustle of Venice main streets. There are alot of restaurants and bars in the area.

Staff is very polite, extremely helpful and professional.

Recommended.

Magical... that's how I would describe this place. You walk along narrow passages, you go through a bridge over a thin canal, and you get to this small palace. When you enter it it's like going back in time, but with everything perfectly renewed and decorated. The room we got was so special, so beautifully decorated, my kids were looking all over and couldn't believe it. Don't give it another thought, you will love it. Good breakfast, nice staff, very well located, and more importantly... unique experience. I stayed with my husband and two little kids. They gave a huge room, with a king size bed and two twin beds on each side. The bathroom was perfect. The review indicates I traveled in 2012 because the system does not give the choice to go further back, I actually traveled in September 2010.

We found this a good place to stay in the real centre of Venice, close to the Canal, to the main boat stops and to San Marco. The hotel is old but very well kept. Staff proved helpful and kind and the breakfast is good for a hotel of this class. A recommendation for those who like walking around Venice without losing too much time getting to places.

Room Tip: We had a room on the 3rd floor with a balcony. That was nice. Room 305.

We booked this hotel via an online broker. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. This was our first trip to Venice and the hotel was as quaint as the city but modern in every way. Great location, walk every where with no trouble. Free wifi with good reception. Staff were friendly and helpful right down to the night manager who served us with a late beer! Breakfast was really good and plentiful. Locally we can recommend a walk to Formosa Square where the cafe by the canal sells the best coffee in Venice. Well we thought so anyway. Casa Verardo is a great place to stay and when we return to Venice it will be at the top of our list.

My husband and i moved in here at the end of an 11 day tour of Italy. We booked online after doing an internet search the day before and were concerned about just what we would get having been staying in some 4 and 5 star places previously. On check in, i was greated by a lovely lady and gentleman who upgraded us from La Locandiera where i had originally booked, to this, their main hotel. When we were shown to our room on the third floor we were very pleasantly surprised - there was a lot of space for our bags - something we hadnt experienced much of until now. The room has the original ceiling beams and original floor. the hotel is a lovely renovated "Casa". The bed was a very comfortable king size (2 doubles pushed together), the bathroom was huge, and although we were right next to San Marco square, it was so peaceful and quiet. There is a laundromat just around the corner as well as great shopping, restaurants and cafes. Breakfast was included and was simple but nice and the staff were always very pleasant and helpful. The only negative was that the bracket that holds the shower head was broken so you had to hold it in your hand then drop it in the bathtub whilst you used the soap etc. We are so glad we found this little place, no hesitation recommending it to others.

Found this hotel just one night before heading to Venezia and I'm glad I did! This hotel is a five minute walk to the Rialto and just a few minutes from Piazza San Marco. There is a "bus" stop that makes navigating to the hotel a cinch! Settled far enough from the high traffic areas we would recommend seeing if the suite with the patio is available for a late night bottle of wine to relax with privacy. The staff was very helpful, breakfast was served on the first floor and was delicious!

Room Tip: Ask for the room with the balcony.
