We flew into Italy, took the water bus from the airport and followed the hotel walking directions to Casa Verardo. Through the chaos of San Zaccaria to this quiet and beautiful hotel. A family of 4, we were given room 101 which overlooked the canal and was incredibly spacious and sunny. The beds were so comfortable, a king and two twin beds, one on either side. It was right next to the breakfast area, but was so well-insulated that we heard nothing in the mornings.
Breakfast was delicious and the coffee was excellent. Lisa at the front desk was helpful and nice, and there was a courtyard with trees that we would sit in during the afternoon. The hotel also had wifi.
Each day we set out on foot and got lost, and all we had to do was find the Piazza San Marco in order to get back home. We'd walk across the little bridge over our canal and we were there.
We were very sad to leave this hotel, and if I ever return to Venice I want the same room overlooking the canal.More
