“An easy 5 minute walk to Piazza San Marco.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 September 2010

After a long day of traveling to Venice from the US, with a half-day stop over in Milan, this hotel was a good find. We found the staff friendly, the hotel quiet and nicely decorated, and the room very clean with a decent size bathroom.

Great location! An easy 5 minute walk to Piazza San Marco.

Good breakfast. Rolls with meat and cheese, fresh fruit, a couple of cereal options, yogurt, juice, coffee....

Our only disappointment was that the website and confirmation email stated that WiFi was available, which generally means that it is included, but when we arrived they wanted to charge an additional 3 Euros for 30 minutes, 10 Euros for 3 hours or 20 Euros for 24 hours.

We had 2 triple rooms for 6 people. It was a little hard to find - they should update the directions on their web site. But it was very close to the action, very quiet, a very nice hotel that I would recommend and stay in again. The staff were very helpful in recommending restaurants, etc. Travel to the cruise ship docks was an unknown for them (as it seemed to be for the cruise ships themselves).

Lots of positive reviews on Trip Advisor and I'm not about to change that. We stayed for a couple of nights and found it to be a great little hotel in an excellent location - about 30 mins by vaporetto from the railway station, it is ideally situated for sightseeing, being a very short walk from Piazza San Marco. Staff were all very helpful, making our stay an absolute pleasure. Breakfast was fine - whether taken inside or on the small but very pleasant terrace. There's also a downstairs courtyard which is excellent for a coffee or something stronger in the evening. Room was quite small, but not a problem as very comfortable and clean with good air conditioning. A real find - would definitely recommend.

Good (if not best) choice to stay in Venice.

Location: Not easy to find, but you can ask waiters at Campo Ss. Filippo E Giacomo, they will know. 5-10 mins walking from Piazza San Marco.
Rates a bit on the high side, but acceptable for Venice.
Room on third floor was overlooking a quiet canal. Period furniture, looking 5-10 years old, but well kept. With air conditioning, On cleanliness there is room for improvement.
Breakfast: was good. Try to get a table at the balcony
Staff was very nice and very helpful;

This was a two-week vacation during which we visited Venice, Florence, Ravello (on the Amalfi Coast), and Rome. We paid almost exactly the same amount per night for each of the four hotels, and all were selected because they were pretty highly rated on TripAdvisor and appeared to be in convenient, central locations.

Casa Verardo got us off to a great start and was one of our best hotel choices. The staff was very nice and very helpful; the hotel was clean and well maintained; breakfast was good; the location was convenient (quite close to Piazza San Marco, but on a quiet side street); and the room and the hotel were attractive from an architectural/design point of view. Good hotels in Italy are not inexpensive, but at Casa Verardo we felt that the facility, the service, and the location made it a better value than some of the places we stayed later in our trip.

Starting off it has to be said that our room on the first floor was very small with a zero view. However ,it did have air conditioning and was more than compensated for by the location, staff and amenities in the hotel.
The staff could not have been more attentive and helpful and the decor of the public areas was lovely.
The amenities which include an outdoor balcony, where you can enjoy your morning breakfast or a relaxing drink in the afternoon, and the garden area off the lobby were a real treat .
The hotels location is only a 5-10min walk to St Marks square and the area surrounding the hotel is quiet and peaceful with a lovely view of the sleepy little canal.
Breakfast was very good with all tastes catered for including cold cuts, cereal, fruit and pastries.
Overall, this hotel is well worth the effort getting to BUT BEWARE!!,the location given on most travel web sites is incorrect. Follow the directions given by the hotel on it's official site.
