Just back from a weekend in Venice, staying in Hotel Flora after reading the TA reviews. The location of the hotel is perfect, in a lane off Venices most chic shopping street, 5 mins walk from St Mark's and the nearest water bus stop. Staff were friendly, and helpful. The room was small but the bed was very comfortable and the linen excellent. The bathroom was the smallest I've ever seen! But we were there to see Venice not a bathroom. Venice is a very expensive city, so be aware, of water taxis (€70 from San Marco to the bus stationn 10min trip, wish the concierge had told us when we booked it) and restaurants within the main tourist areas.
The Hotel was perfect and would recommend it. The only shame is the bar closes very early, got back to the hotel at 10pm, hoping for a night cap and the bar was closed.More
