“An Oasis in Venice”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2014

We stayed here during high season (mid August) at the end of 2 weeks touring Italy. The Hotel Flora does everything well. Soft sheets. Quiet. A PHENOMENAL breakfast (e.g., fresh baked croissant and other pastries, eggs, ham, cheese, bread, juices, yogurt, good coffee) is included. It's amazing what the chef creates in the small adjacent kitchen. Giovanni at the front desk was particularly helpful, gracious, and wise in his direction for how our family (w/ 2 kids 10 and 12) would enjoy the food and sites in this magical city during a crowded time. Grazie mille!

Room Tip: We had a 2 room suite which was perfect for a family of 4. A king bed for my husband and me, with t...

We stayed here before embarking on a 7 night cruise as we wanted to experience Venice for a day beforehand. I chose this hotel knowing that we had little time to spend and wanted to be close to the St. Mark's area as that is where we planned be for the time. It was perfect for this and the hotel was wonderful. The reception staff was very knowledgeable and made reservations for us to enter the Cathedral on the no wait line. He also arranged our transport to the cruise port.

The rooms had plenty of space for three people and the bathrooms were updated and quite large. We even had a bathtub. The wifi worked well also. Our room was on the third floor and had wooden beams across the ceiling which gave a rustic look. This place also has an elevator/lift which was a nice plus. It took us five minutes to walk into the Piazza San Marco where the crowds were plentiful, yet you didn't feel it in the Hotel Flora which was nice. We used the #2 vaporetto to Valaresso San Marco to get to the hotel from the Piazzale Roma. And from there it was a few short blocks away.

Room Tip: The triple rooms are large. Plenty of room for three people.

Great location helps make the Hotel Flora a great destination. Within 10 mins walking distance to San Marco and a Vaporetto stop. Great nearby restaurants and a super helpful and friendly staff made all the difference. Rooms were very comfortable and the bathroom was more than adequate (we had a standard double room).
The breakfast buffet was outstanding and could be taken either indoors or out in their wonderful outdoor garden. Be sure to give some love to the morning breakfast crew who were tireless in their service. I understand that some of the breakfast pastries were prepared on-site -- and they were just wonderful.

If you imagine a typical oldy worldly venice hotel, mix it with a modern classy twist and position it perfectly in relation to st marco and rialto bridge, you have the perfect hotel. this isn't the cheapest hotel, but quality price it was ŵell worth the extra.
Breakfast kept you going until evening, the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. It was family friendly, free wifi, very quiet with good air conditioning.

Hope we get to go back!

Room Tip: Our room was ground floor court yard, very quiet and perfect for 3.

Charming hotel very close to San Marco and Vaporetto Station. Furnishing is in the antique style, excellent fresh and crisp bedlinen. As expected for Venice, room and bathroom were on the small size, but we really enjoyed our 2 nights stay in this very cosy hotel. Bed very comfortable and breakfast in the lovely courtyard a real treat. Choice on offer was certainly not the standard Italian style, it was plentiful and a great variety of good quality food. One of the best cappuccino’s to be had in Venice. Since the hotel is so central, one can always pop back for a short rest and some peaceful moments during the day. Reception staff was helpful and friendly.
